I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

Why is it these tend to stick ?

I don't mean where water gets around them and 'afixes' them in place around their sleeves, I mean the 'blowby' (for want of a better description) builds up securely affixing them in place.

Are the seals not up to it ? , the compression is not really much different in a DI vs IDI unit, then again the fuel pressure...

Given our love of French cars I wonder if there are any frequent drivers in France able to pass on advice?

I've booked a camp site in Argeles sur mer (near Perpignan, south coast) for May/June. I have a choice about travel but am leaning towards driving, probably using a ferry from Dover, or Eurotunnel. Could be less than half the cost of flying...

Prior to being made redundant, for the whole of my working life I have been fortunate in that I have had a very short commute, 12-15 minutes. There is a slim chance I may be offered a job in the next couple of days but its 35 miles away. The route is over A and B roads and is not particularly pleasant. I don't even have a car so I'll need to...

what do you highly techy types think of this below as an alternative to supper glue and conductive paint for heated rear screen repair's,
as in bonding terminals back to the screen

in my experience the repair im talking about the super glue does not come into contact with the glass, but just to the original bonding for the heated screen terminal,

i certainly would not super glue a rear view mirror back in place, as there is a lot of leverage going through the mirror to its mounting point when adjusting it

What makes you buy either Citroen, Pug or Fiat....I mean, if you going for a certain size and all 3 did models with an engine, spec ect suited...what would make you choose a certain make, when they're all still French

They're reasonably intuitive to service, even newer ones.

Still think it was downhill after they went to multiplex, as the PSA multiplex is to my experience, less reliable than the Fiat group wiring. PSA have better plated bolts, though (seriously) - they corrode a lot less in hidden areas.

Generally any open - non public area in an industrial estate, not in use 24/7 will have barriers installed. Too many clubs using them as unofficial gathering points. They can spend thousands on car modifications but not a few quid on hiring a venue to show off.

A nice grey area this as I know with my license I can tow a trailer up to a max laden weight of 750kg but how big is this given a lot of older wooden home built trailers don't have any way of identifying their max weight part of the reason I gave up building my last trailer I don't want to loose my license and don't want to spend 300 on a course...

Well I got to experience the joys of a Renault dCi engine this morning first hand.

A well looked after car, 89k miles, not abused at all, serviced regularly and still it ends up this way - and people ask me why all my Renaults are petrol :roll:

Speaking to Martin today it is possible that he will make a batch of these legendary tools up but will need a minimum of 10 to make it viable.

I'm sure you all know about them, those that have them wouldn't be without them and if you've a hydractive Xantia you'll really need one for those awkward spheres...

They will sell for about £35 a piece...

Looking around this forum, it just seems that people rate the S1 Xantia higher than an S2. TD versions only. The HDi which came with the S2 is a different animal altogether. I actually bought a 110HDi but took it back after 2 days when engine management and other warning lights light up the dashboard like a Xmas tree. That pulled like a train,...

There are subtle styling difference between the S1 and S2, mainly the function buttons, passenger airbag area and the trim along the clock area.

I really like the door armrest cubbies in the S2, ideal for putting mints etc, or wallet out of sight. With the armrest in the open position it is in the perfect place for an armrest for me while...

chaps.. paypal is just odd these days..

I sold two heavy items to a chap in West London (boat engines as a project/spares - in July) the items were listed on ebay but he chose to buy them before the end of listing.
fair enough, he paid via paypal and I delivered them to him by hand..

Now in October, he is complaining that things are not...

Petrol in IDI vs DI

Why are DI units more prone to damage when having a small drink of petrol ?

Is it just the HP pump internals really cannot stand the lack of lubrication compared to a IDI unit or is it the injectors that are going to have problems.

Having said that the thought of petrol being pressurised to that degree in a DI unit is a scary thought. :-k

Yes I know :oops: , but no one locally had any decent Bosch / Beru in and these were next day delivery. I really should of asked the factor to order them in. I've used Bosch in the 205, they were still working six years later.

Anyway these new 'cheap' TUD5 ones apart from the threaded section not being 'attached' to the body, well it twists on...

Well interestingly it started fine this morning, I guess as its going to get intermittent its going to be the fact they are a bit 'loose' on the head area, I suspect there's not an ideal connection. Oh well. Bosch next time.

There are squillions of various clutch kit numbers from PSA, then you go to an aftermarket supplier like Valeo and they name their kit as an interchange for maybe a dozen of these part numbers.

Breaking it down further, how abusible are the kits? I mean (example plucked from thin air) will a 1.9D cover and disc...
