Hi guys, as im owner of one old 2005 peugeot 407sw 2.0 diesel, im slowly fixing broken stuf on it, but first i want to doo prior maintance, i want to change in next week or 2 oil and oil filters of engine, but doing that i want to change oil in gearbox to, my question is where could i get info what oil goes in it, its automatic 4 speed gearbox, and its working fine while driving, only what i saw as wierd was, that when i change from parking to R and to D then R it kicks a bit, like whole car kicks a bit, my gues is that in this 240 000km car has on it, oil in gearbox was newer changed.......Any sugestions, and please i need info regarding the oil in gearbox, i found some info that Lt 71141 goes in it, can i usse this OIL " https://www.auto-doc.at/liqui-moly/2451891" or what, and is it posible to change filter in this gearbox by my self...
PS
From PP2000 im geting reading that its 4HP20 automatic gearbox in my car....VIN is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] ; so if someone can check for me would be nice....thnx in advance...

I am aware (from my time on the forum) that the LT71141 oil seems to be the correct oil to use in some PSA gearboxes. Other oils that purport to be suitable tend not to be suitable. I cannot say more than that, as I have never had an automatic car.

However, CitroJim (who is a member on the forum but (for medical reasons) has 'gone quiet') wrote up a guide on rebuilding some gearboxes, including an automatic one. It could be worth taking a look at his website;

Problem is that here where i live in Austria, only oil that i get when i search for LT71141 is that LIQUI MOLY Top Tec ATF, 1200 Automatikgetriebeöl , but what bothers me is that in description it says BMW LT 71141
I ordered it as i need to doo oil change urgently in next 2 weeks so i hope i dont destroy my gearbox with it...

Try searching for Mobil LT71141
https://www.mobil.com/en-gb/passenger-v ... f-lt-71141
This should be it? https://www.motointegrator.at/artikel/1 ... pMQAvD_BwE

I canceled my previous order and ordered 5L of mibil.....as i plan to change oil 2 times in next month...

That certainly looks like the right stuff.
Used to be Esso but changed to Mobil a few years ago.
The Mobil stuff is definitely correct for the PSA boxes.

I'll delve into it later, unless anyone else has the details but basically measure the amount drained, usually 3L, and replace with exactly the same amount.
This has to be done with the oil at a specific temperature ~ 60℃ IIRC.

The change has to be recorded in the (gearbox ECU) with a Lexia.

Repeat after a couple of thousand miles, then again after another couple of thousand miles.
There is a total of 7L in there but only 3L approx can be drained, the remainder resides in the torque converter.

Here are a few threads dealing with it:
Some links no longer active. Unfortunately it seems that the links for the official procedure are to Jim's site, eastment.net and although some of it is accessible, that section seems to have gone.
Unfortunately Jim is currently not active on the forum but when he is I will point this out to him and see if it can be resurrected and possibly the procedure placed in out "How To" forum.
Do have a read of those threads as it highlights the many pitfalls that can be encountered.
Will continue to try and locate the correct procedure.

Found these which I hope will be helpful.
I realised that you haven't mentioned which gearbox you have and there may be different procedures depending on the specific one.

If you post your VIN then we may be able to determine which one you have, if you don't already know.
