Re: C3 Picasso Clutch Issues
Its a bit confusing Jim when you read its gravity that bleeds these .. id say with a little help from , this..
Pressurise the sytem then pull out clip net to nipple pull fluid feed pipe part out let fluid out keep fluid bowl topped up , if air is in the system your see it in the pipe connected to the bleed nipple & collection bottle. Sounds like a plan to me.

Yes, that would do the job.. A bit like to old Gunsons Eezi-Bleed system that used pressure from the spare wheel to achieve the same... It worked rather well...

Mick that is a brillant idea and i will certainly do it . Seeing how cheap looking these pipes look i reckon there must be some perishing going on somewhere.

On none-hydropneumatic cars I have found these to be a very simple and effective solution, only needs one person to operate it.Huskyxantia wrote: 02 Dec 2024, 17:12 Bleeding .
1. 2 man one opens the nipples while other pumps pedal
2. 1 man , using vaccume procedure.
3. Combo of 1&2
4 give up .... go electric ...![]()
Embarrassingly cheap.

Re: C3 Picasso Clutch Issues
Ive seen something like this its a one way valve thing isnt it. I had a pipe with a ball bearing in a plastic end which let fluid out then close by the ball closing the hole.

Re: C3 Picasso Clutch Issues
That's it... Got one here. The trick to get the best out of it is to have the one way valve submerged at all times in a jar of clean brake fluid... Then, rather than any tendency to suck air, it'll suck fluid instead...Huskyxantia wrote: 02 Dec 2024, 17:55 Ive seen something like this its a one way valve thing isnt it. Re: C3 Picasso Clutch Issues
Todays findings .
First thing i did was made sure the fluid level was topped up ,it was
Then i popped the master cylinder plunger back onto the clutch pedal
I then fitted clear pipe onto the slave cylinder bleed point , made sure the clutch pedal was fully up, unclipped the clip next to the bleed outlet pipe in the slave then pulled the pipe to allow the air & fliud to run out. It came out down the tube into my bottle with some fluid in and pipe submerged , then the fluid ran clear. Fluid pipe to slave cylinder then pushed back home and the clip also pushed home to, i went to try the pedal , met with a hissing sound and hardly no pedal , then pedal laid flat to floor.
So wiper scuttle panel off, air box out , BINGO , Master cylinder supply pipe
Was leaking at the master cylinder connection point. So i pulled this off , no effort at all & ive poked it into the fluid filler bowl so it dont leak.
So this is drawing in air everytime the clutch is being used ,possible car movement & vibration wont help a week spot either.
