So new ball joint is in 90nm toqure setting hub , and all brake parts are in the car boot as im now waiting a new drive shaft I can confirm the on the car even scared ai , I showed the ai on my device via camera all movement and it came back with for your safety do not drive your car from what im seeing and how much floppy free play you are showing me it is very dangerous this has caused your inner tyre to wear plus the lower ball joint too... well, I got told off ......

Some photos of the shaft out of the way and some gearbox numbers as one seller claims the driver shaft is coded to the gear box ? What for ...

It did till it turned out to be a tad over 1mm to thick for the roof to close correctly, so its been done again in a grey soft cloth proper thickness too and a happy roof

You've been busy Husky! As regards the little Torx screws holding brake discs to the hub: I always use a small impact driver to remove them. It that fails, they're easy to drill out...

I thought it was more than 90 .. its not back on the car yet so when it is I can pound it up , ive another problem. Where the hell is the gearbox number on the gearbox

Turning into a puzzle this one found 2 drive shafts but the seller is asking vin , reg , gearbox code .... digging around the gearbox now wheres the number ...

I'm not certain, but think "9HR" and "RGH" are engine codes - if I'm correct they should be part of your car's VIN number. Characters 6,7,8 should match:

Ive just messaged the seller , we'll another seller they only needed the vin so fingers crossed this is all that's needed , the only difference i think they might be getting fussy over is
1 petrol drive shafts are not intended for diesel
2. 1.6hdi and 2.0hdi shafts are compatible
3. 5 speed box or 6 .

Which mines a 1.6hdi 6 speed , I'll just wait and see what this other seller comes back to me with.

Not a very productive day at all , I measured the drive shaft it was bigger than 2 numbers ive been given regarding drive shafts for the 308cc so I went to the main dealers and was met by a big grinning bearded chap who quickly said how they no longer handle parts , I had to go to the other part they are now under a mile up the road , gave me directions and off I went , well this was great in I went into this big massive unit , I was met by your typical English chap .. vejay ... i put forwards what I needed and quickly was told NO we can't give you the OEM numbers were not allowed.

So off he went then I spoke to another chap who used to work in the service part to the original dealership , he told me now they have to give the car keys back to the owner while they then have to cut a new one and programe it then sell it to the owner of the car because its there rule now???

Just opposite was Euro car parts whom can be useless so I went in there , they did give me a part number and price , £386+vat
Place before .. look at the photo , ive just about had it today 4 hrs of waste trying to get a drive shaft and im no better off...
