PHP CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619

by xantia_v6 » 21 Oct 2026, 21:49 » in Forum News, Announcements and Issues

First post

The forum was offline for an hour or so while applying the patches for this significant security weakness.

There is a possibility that some forum functions are broken, as I have not been able to do much testing.

Last post

It'll be reet!

Thanks for acting so promptly though reading up about this in more detail I think another patch will be due soon because a company called Chainguard broke an embargo with The PHP Foundation and released the patch 6 hours earlier thus giving hackers access to the patch before a dedicated deadline that had been agreed by TPHPF.

Disruption to Parts Service

As you may be aware, the consolidation of the old PSA to the Stellantis Group systems has resulted in both a merge of data tools and a requirement to migrate PSA accounts to Stellantis Systems.

This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

I have a Renault Grand Scenic 2013. It had its second new turbo fitted before Christmas 2017 having done 140,000 miles and having the first turbo done under warranty in march 16.

It came up with a Stop warning last week and showed engine failure

It had been dipped two days earlier and was well over half full and my local garage is now telling me...

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Is it a Diesel? If so, is it possible they have quoted you to replace the Dual Mass Flywheel at the same time as this is a recommended operation when replacing the clutch - given the cost of the labour and DMFs rarely see the life of clutch replacement. Something to clarify as this will obviously push the cost up...

Sounds like a sunroof leak. It might be worth sealing it up and drying the car out to see if it stays dry. Initially I would just tape or silicon over it, if that proves to be the source of the leak I would then look at new seals, drain tubes etc.

Read this.

Our Clio is bone dry now, even in the heaviest of downpours.

Good luck,
Mick.

Scenic automatic gearbox fault info.

by stiffybrian » 11 Nov 2008, 16:07

First post

On 2 occasions lately my Scenic automatic seemed to be stuck in 1st. It wouldn't change up, was low on power and dash even showed 'Check gearbox'. Was well worried as auto boxes cost 25 billion pounds.
It wasn't the gearbox at all, it was the spark coils. Apparently they tend to go in pairs and though the engine sounds OK 1 or 2 cylinders aren't...

Jaguar had a simular problem with their trans units apparently if cheap aftermarket ignition parts are used it can cause a mini EMP that spooks the gearbox computer ,much the same with brake switches on renaults and bad earths on the rear lights can put the unit into limp mode but then its French lots of built in problems !

Laguna RT Steering Problem

by bwellard » 03 Feb 2005, 00:47

First post

I have a 1996 1.8l Laguna RT. Recently it has started to pull to the left when the steering wheel is centred and I'm having to steer to the right to compensate. I had the cars tracking checked yesterday using 4 wheel Laser, yet it is all spot on. Tyre pressures are both fine and it has recently had a full service(3 weeks ago) and passed its MOT at...

Last post

Wow, how many decade-plus aged posts are you replying to? please look at the dates before you post... I would imagine this 1996 Laguna is long scrapped by now, even if it were just the bottom ball joints at that time

Espace LPG MPG

by andycarter » 13 Oct 2008, 20:05

First post

I'm considering buying an Espace...

Has anyone run one with an LPG conversion kit?

I'm interested in what sort of MPG you get to see how this compares with a diesel.

Thanks

Last post

It used to cost me £30 of LPG to do the 210 miles home in my 4 litre Jeep. At the time that made it about the cost equivalent of 50mpg.

On petrol, it struggled to do 20mpg, 15 was more like it. Diesel Jeep Cherokees are so horrid that I'd rather be poor and have a petrol one if I was given a choice

1997 Renault Scenic immobiliser problem

by Ragdoll » 26 Oct 2008, 22:58

First post

Hi all. My apologies if this has already been posted somewhere, did a search and can't find anything directly related.

I can't disable the immboliser on my car. I changed the batteries in the key fob thinking that was the problem but it wasn't. So, my question is, in simple girly terms, is there any way of sorting this problem without it costing...

Try a four wheel laser tracking at a proper tyre place? Have you had a look at the rear axle, it could be out.

I hope he's fixed it by now...though I'd imagine it's probably baked bean tins now.

Renault Megan classic ucbic (ecu)??

Sounds like an earthing or fusebox problem to me. If you can't drive a multimeter, get yourself off to an electical specialist for a second opinion.

This thread was last used 12 years ago, probably the cars fixed or scrapped by now.

my advice would be take it inot a garage as soon as possible.
if it is a computer problem any diagnosis without looking at the car it self would be near impossible to get accurate.

answer to question 1;renaults timing belt intervals can be a bit on the extreme side but the belts do seem to last.although i've heard of a few going so to be sure if you couldnt find a cheap way of doing it i would have it changed at 36000miles.

Faulty ECU?

by ebod » 29 Apr 2005, 01:35

First post

G Man,
It would help us greatly if you advised what model/age Renault you have.
Some cars are cable throttle and some are 'fly-by-wire'. If the car is under warranty then get it off to the dealers. If its less than 3yrs old then if its electrical it will come up if you get the ecu fault codes read.

An other thing to check is the earth wire for the actual computer this can lead to all sorts of problems , put a meter on it and check the continuty , could be the tps gone tits up but that should be checked as well !

Had to change a flat the other day and tried to winch down my spare. It got half way then jammed, to cut a long story short the steel wire is twisted beyond repair. The unit is easy to remove but not dismantle. Main dealer charging £180 for replacement.
Does anyone know of a resonable spares dealer.

Stupid Renault Master Problem

by njr » 26 Sep 2009, 16:49

First post

Hi

Feel free to laugh :( but I have a problem that is totally my own making.

I changed the oil and filter on the van today and reversed off the ramps but stupidly left an axle stand up. Anyway the bottom line is it has pierced the gearbox housing somehow and Ive no gearbox oil left.

What I'd like to know is can it be repaired or do I need a new...

Last post

I offered to fix my son inlaws xr 4 but he said i would prefer to let the garage do it , so they put up on the ramp fixed the exhaust and let it down right onto a 5ft stand they left in the way of the door they left open , they turned it into a gull wing ford ,priceless !
