WANTED crankshaft sensor for Renault Vel Satis

Hi Everyone, I'm a new member, own a Renault Vel Satis Initialle 3.5 V6 petrol, trying to get a crankshaft sensor for it, been trying for 3 weeks, driving us mad, cant even get a secondhand one, Renault part no 7701068767, might just save my marriage as my wife uses it to go to work and back. Thanks Marc, I've tried those, they say they have them but when it comes down to it they haven't, I been trawling internet for 3 weeks, nationwide breaking sites, google etc. but nothing, I've ordered one from Renault but its on back order and they cant even give me a date yet (up to 2 months was mentioned), I was hoping someone might be breaking one or better still one on a shelf somewhere (some chance)

I was going to say that neither of those links is likely to help, as they keep no stock, they just order from the dealers.

You could try sending a PM to our member R9UKE . He has not been around for a while, but I think that he may have had a parts-car with a similar engine.

Am I correct in thinking that the same engine was used in some Nissans (350z?) if so, it would open up a whole new line of enquiry, particularly if you can find the Nissan part number of the same part.

I think http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/INFINITI-Cran ... 2227883126 might be a used example with a Nissan part number.

Thank you xantia_V6 for your 2 posts, your right it is the Nissan 350z engine, trouble is in the Renault it has a Renault gearbox, and the Nissan has a Nissan box, the sensors are different, the Renault one has 45 decree angle fixing eye to the gearbox, sorry late getting back offline for a while,
