I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

My Activa is running on 2 cylinders.
I've changed the coil, but it's not that :evil:

Consulting the wiring diagram;

1105 is the Ignition Module
1135 is the Ignition Coil
1136 is the Ignition Coil Capacitor

They're the only things that can be at fault as far as I can see (aside from the ECU of course).
(1304 is the fuel injection relay which...

Hi. New to the forum.

Basically ive got a 1999 (V) Xantia activa 2.0 In dark blue, 89k miles. Excellent condition inside and very good exterior.

No history with it although looks like it's had alot of recent suspension work.

Just curious as to how much their worth these day. I haven't seen one for sale in quite a while..

The 306 gt6 and xsara vts are the most common 2.0 transplant for 205's now, and another popular transplant is the 16v saxo vts/pug 106 gti. There's quite a few of them on the 205 owners. I recently changed the Activa rod bushes, and found that the rods themselves are badly worn. I thought that they were still available from Citroen, but it seems that one side is now NLA :?

After talking with a former Activa owner recently, he reckoned they could actually be repaired...

Anybody ever tried?

Matt, the rods are not hard to separate. Just move the ball and socket to the maximum extent of their travel and keep going a bit... A bit like dislocating a shoulder...

Im just wondering after recentley replacing mine at a nice price of course from the local robbers, if there is a simpler electronic device that could replace this unit to keep the ECU happy and then the use of a manual PBV/PRV to control boost level upto 1bar instead? Of course the extra pipe would need blanking off but thats not a biggy...

If you could it would be great Jim as i think long term it will be the easiest solution as the only thing that concerned me was if it was sensing a change in resistance when activated.

FYI my old one will be on its way down to you with steve. I think if its lubed up and actuated a decent amount it should come back to life as i think its suffered...

Has anyone fitted uprate brake pads to their Activa at all?

I've seen a few different types offered for the V6 sized calipers and am edging more towards mintex pads as i've found Dimpled and grooved black coated discs(helps with rust when parked up for longer periods) for £82 delivered via MTECbrakes, who are based in Derry of all places!

If I did it then it would be quick release clamps like i put on the TD before i sold it.

TBH i think the easier route is to get a lighter AGM battery. i wonder if there is anywhere that makes a plastic bonnet for the xantia at all as they weigh a fair chunk of meat as well....

As you may know I now own another activa. This is my 3rd, my 2nd phase 1.

It's wainy's old one, which has been off the road for the last few years. I purchased it blind, and had it shipped down south.

First thing was to chuck it in for an MOT. Unsurprisingly it failed, but it wasn't a horror story.

Hello everyone, I've been lurking for a little while now, and though I should say hello and post up a few details of my very first Xantia, an Activa. It was, perhaps unsurprisingly, in need of some of attention - however being sold with some Tax and an MoT until September, I figured it was worth a punt.

A quick update on my Activa, which many will have seen at CCC rallies.

I think a remap has always been on the cards as from the minute i got it i could tell (feel) that the ecu is bleeding off to keep the torque curve flat. Being used to big power turbos and knowing that you can get good fuel economy when not driving like a looney only getting 24-26mpg in any/all situations is a bit...

It is. All you need is a spare ECU with a known keypad code then... Simples :-D

Mind you, I very much doubt it's that James. More than likely a rotten wiring loom in the usual place or a knackered fusebox... Easy enough to sort.

I've just listed an Activa rear subframe on ebay.
It's a bit rough/rusty but the ram was not leaking wet, just a bit damp/dusty look about it.
Might do you as a bench project to tidy up with Jim's leak return fix and a Fiesta steering rack bellows? Then transplant to your car?
I'm not looking for much for it, just wanted to to air it on...

Right,

The other day I bought a manual ball and spring boost controller and a boost gauge for the Activa so that I can crank the power up a little until I get the V6 Conversion done on it.

I don't want the boost gauge to be a permanent fixture in the car as it's out of character but I would like it to be there for a week or two so that I can...

Bit more then I'd be willing to spend on it I think!

Some XM's had boost gauges on them... Shame the Activa didn't have it.

It is a hex (Allen) and it's 6mm..

Can be quite tight too... You nee a good hex bit on the end of a short breaker bar...

It's quite big in Allen head terms Mike. the bolt itself is quite meaty. I'm pretty certain it's 6mm. Same size as a 4HP20 drain plug...

Still, as you say, you've experienced a good Activa and that's something I believe every Citroen fan should do at some point in their lives..

I'm interesting in buying another Activa, ideally a late Mk1, in Dante Red with a sunroof or a late Mk2. Prefer original car with no rust or repair damage, defective mechanicals not an issue. Failing that, wot you got? I'm in no rush so willing to wait for the right car to appear, just testing the water.

Problem now solved as I have acquired a low mileage, two owner, Dante Red Mk1, in Exclusiv trim, complete with a sunroof and AC!

Must check it's still where I last parked it. Must confess I've not seen it for a few days...

Back along I went to the Citroen Conservatoire with the French BX and XM club and I got to see 2 particularly special concept cars in the flesh, Activa 1 and 2. As per here...

I fitted my winter tyres to the Activa last weekend. Hurray for the snow fall in the last 24 hours.

Very inpressed with the Activa's behaviour in the slippery conditions.
Obviously roll control is not really a big issue in low grip conditions. However, having Anti Roll Bars which are effectively decoupled when tarvelling along...

Front Activa ram gaiter

Hi all,

New activa-related challenge... The gaiter on the front Activa ram is hanging in two pieces, leaving the chrome shaft exposed next to the nearside front wheel... According to service.citroen.com the gaiter isn't available as an individual part, only the entire ram, which is clearly not required just yet. I can see the black plastic sheath...

Good idea. The other thing I've done since is provide a drain-route. The oe gaiter has drainage slots at the bottom to allow any water that's got in to drain out. I have tucked some short lengths of stainless rod under the bottom of the gaiter and clamped it back up tight to hopefully achieve the same effect...

Hydraulic clutch failure - split plastic tubing

The hydraulic line on my clutch has a small split near the union to the slave cylinder. Any failure in the system is supposed to be replaced by a complete system (master cylinder, slave cylinder and connecting tubing). Try different heat levels. As you've found out, too hot and the tube reeves up. You may find that boiling water is hot enough. It's very much a suck it and see. We used to use a tube insert made by a company called Drallim, if I remember correctly. There may be a copper/steel tube with the right diameter to fit inside the plastic tube.
