Hi all,
My activa has decided to spring a rather alarming leak of LHM from the rear drivers side of the car.
I'm a complete hydraulic citroen rookie, only had the activa about 4 months and not had to do anything properly mechanical until now!
It seems to be leaking fluid from a pipe above one of the rear spheres (not sure which one, and it was too dark to get a decent photo) at a rate of about 1 drip/second when the suspension is in high mode. It stops when in low mode and is somewhere in the middle for normal driving mode.
Tried to locate the part on citroen service, but it all looks the same when you're unfamiliar with it!
It certainly doesn't look like either the ram or either of the spheres there, the pipe disappears behind what i'm assuming is some kind of hydraulic junction box.
If anyone could tell me if this is common, easy to fix, etc etc then that would be great!
Cheers George

Re: Activa LHM Leak
It's not one of the low pressure return pipes from the rear strut gaiter is it? They can pop out of the spigot on the gaiter which is then able to dribble LHM that has worked it's way past the piston in the strut

Re: Activa LHM Leak
My Activa had a similar leak when I was doing the rear activa cylinder return collar repair. The return pipe got disconected in the process and it's a "thin fingers" job the put it back together... Just follow the thin pipe that goes from activa cylinder might be it...

Re: Activa LHM Leak
Otherwise if not that it'll be the four-way junction block where a number of leakage return pipe meet and join up..
Hope it's not as that one is a subframe drop job or as one person did, chop holes in the boot floor to get at it

Re: Activa LHM Leak
Right, I finally got around to doing this today, had it up on the ramps and i'm slightly confused now.
The leak is coming from a junction piece which sits above a sphere at the drivers side rear, is it the junction piece that causes the leak or the pipes going into it usually? One of the pipes wasn't pushed into the junction fully so I thought that was the culprit at first however after pushing that home with some very long needle nosed pliers the leak continued. It is so difficult to see and get to that i can't make out whether its a pipe or junction at fault.
I've looked on citroen service and that only added to my confusion, I thought that it was a 3-way junction which was y-shaped, but looking at service the junction that looks to be in the correct position is 4-way, due to the awkward location i may have just missed the other pipe going in. Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Also if it is the 4 way junction at fault, does anyone have one? It's marked as no further production on service.

Re: Activa LHM Leak
Maybe the junction piece itself is leaking...

Re: Activa LHM Leak
Leak solved! It was the 4 way junction to blame, one of the pipes had popped out of the top of it, hadn't seen it due to the lack of access. Anyway I managed to get it back into the junction without taking anything off which i'm amazed by, luckily i have fairly small hands and a lot of patience! One thing is niggling though, why would the pipe have come off in the first place? Can pressure build in these pipes and blow them off the junctions? Or has it just worked its way loose over time?
