Xantia 2 1.9TD, radiator-to-cooler hose question.

Post by Deacon »

Hi,

One of the coolant hoses connecting the oil cooler to the radiator ruptured on my Xantia 2 1.9TD. As per Citroen's Servicebox, the OEM part is 1307LN. This hose is nowhere to be found, so I checked the same hose for a Xantia 1 1.9TD with a/c and there the OEM number is 1307AK, and this hose is readily available.

Does anyone know if these parts are interchangeable?

I have had a quick look at Parts, and the use of those two hoses is not straightforward.
They were used on both Xan I and Xan II, with/without AC, manual/auto boxes - so quite a mixture.

If you can post your VIN (which will appear masked), we can find out which hoses will fit yours, and look at availability.
Will have to ask you for a donation to the forum for this, which will cover you for other parts queries for the whole of this year and next.

Hi,

You guys helped me a lot with this forum, so I'd be glad to help. I made a donation, to whom should I send the confirmation for it?

The VIN number of the car is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Thanks!

The donation has gone through ok, thank you, and you're now flagged as 'Donor 2021'.
Will look out the hose info.

Both 1307LN and 1307AK are NFP at Citroen, but do look pretty much equivalent to each other.
Both fitted to Xantia XUD9TE with A/C...
XanII 1307LN hose.JPG
XanII 1307AK 1307GZ hoses.JPG
Your car's RP = 7889
1307 AK was fitted to cars RP 6356-7482
1307 GZ was fitted from RP 7123 onwards, but also NFP, and not showing up on the searches I did.

1307 AK showing in stock at Mister Auto UK, as a SASIC SWH0288 £23.50
It's also showing in stock on Autodoc - a couple of brand choices.

All seem to connect oil cooler to radiator bottom right.

Not sure whether Mister Auto UK is now fully active again; you'll need to try it.
Item showing as ok on their .es site, and most stock is held in France anyway.

Hope helpful.

I'd also need to change the hose clamps for the said hose, but I can't clearly make it out what the OEM numbers are on those. Could you help me out on those? I hope at least they are always the same.

If it's the Jubilee hose clamps item (80), these are part: 6981K4 (DIAM 23-35 LARG 9) and cost £1.45 each from Citroen.

The mechanic (btw not a Citroen one, so doesn't have access to Servicebox), said that what is important is the coolant radiator and oil cooler on my car to be the same as these on a late model Xantia 1 1.9TD, equipped with the 1307AK hose, variations on the form of the hose don't matter in this case as long as the connectors are of the same diameter. We do not want to be stuck with a hose that is not useful to us, he said.

I think they should be the same, but could we check these to be sure? Thanks!

PS: 2 years ago I changed the coolant radiator and oil cooler. The oil cooler is the exact same as the original one, but the coolant radiator (and top and bottom main hoses) I have replaced with these for a Xantia 1 1.9TD, so should be an even greater advantage here.

Thanks, Marc! With these numbers at hand I poked through the forum and saw what some of the other coolers might be:

With what you and Chris provided, I am fairly confident it will fit.
