Peugeot T9 clunking noise

Post by Narl »

2015 Peugeot T9 has a clunking noise from P/S/F area.

Only seems to happen from a standing start like waiting at lights as soon as you come off the clutch on to the accelerator.

The noise doesn’t appear to happen when going over speed bumps etc, you can intermittently hear the noise when the car is slowing down in gear.

I have had the car checked with a local mechanic, the only thing he could see is the drive shaft going into the box has a little more play than normal also noticed there is a slight bit of movement on the gearbox side of things.

If I am to post my VIN would it be at all possible to get part number for the fore mentioned above?

Thanks.

Also be aware of the bushings in the wishbone. These can not always easily be moved when checking under the car, but with the car on the road and all the weight from a lunge forward or from braking, it is enough to move the bushing back and forward to make a clunking noise.

Hi. Sorry for the late reply a few months later haha.

Yeah it was on the lift today wish bones etc are all on the mechanic showed me the play in the drive shaft it does appear to have excessive play.

I have got a quote for the drive shaft it worked out at over £340.00. I was hoping to get the part numbers but they didn’t reveal those at all.

In addition the thrust or clutch release bearing is starting to go again which will need replaced so I’d be looking a complete clutch kit including slave cylinder.

Vin / Chassis number is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
