207 problems

just became owner of a peugeot 207 1.6vvt and im regretting already :roll: its come up with open curcuit fault bank 2 on diag and runs crap ,ive replaced both vvt solenoids and theres power to them ,if i disconnect one solenoid it runs ok anyone know where i can download a free wiring diagram for this or has had the same issues thanks

Post your VIN up if you want a diagram and be a little more specific - is it the engine management system you want?

5fw 207 1.6 vvt automatic 2008 . start car ,runs rough keeps cutting out ,disconnect one vvt solenoid car starts and will run all day.checked so far .timing ,power to both vvt solenoids good ,any help please FORGOT TO MENSION BOTH VVT SOLENOIDS REPLACED WITH GENUINE

The VIN will be automatically obscured so that only Forum staff can read it. The VIN can normally be found on the V5 logbook, and in a small clear patch on the lower left of the windscreen. The reason Marc needs the VIN is to make sure he gets the right information for YOUR 207. As they were made in various factories, and with differing components/configurations (including wiring looms) anything without said VIN would be just a guess.

After sales description of the fault codeExhaust variable timing electrovalve control fault : Open circuit
Description of the diagnosticsDetection of an open circuit on the exhaust camshaft dephaser electrovalve power stage (For more than 0,5 s)
Conditions of activation of the diagnosticsThe following conditions have to be met
-Main wake-up:
- Battery voltage between 9 and 17,9 V
- Engine running and power relay jammed for 2 seconds
- The output terminal has gone through the high and low statuses
Conditions of disappearance of the faultCheck that there are no fault codes: P2091 - P2090 - P0013 (For 1 second)
Down-grade modes if fault present
  • Change to butterfly mode
  • Deactivation of the adaptation of the exhaust camshaft
  • Deactivation of the adaptation of the basic richness
  • Deactivation of checking of the canister purge
Switching on of the warning lamp and/or warning messageWarning lamp MIL
Main customer complaints likely
  • Emissions outside the norms
  • Excessive fuel consumption
Suspect areasExhaust camshaft dephaser control power stage

yes but with out knowing wire colours or rest ofdiagram instructions im a bit snookered im not an auto electrician just an old guy who likes messing

PSA wiring does not primarily use colours for identification. You will see numbers (often 4 digit) on the diagram, these same numbers are printed on the wires every few cm.

Marc, what are the component code numbers of the VVT solenoids?
