Having just acquired a Clio..just so that I can find them when I need them..heres a thread which can be a receptacle for a few everyday maintenance videos.

The car has been inactive for a while so I expect to do disks and pads. This vid makes it look easy :-D and all done in about 7 minutes real time!

Are there known issues with the cooling system in this model?

I am losing a bit of coolant evry now naf then, no evident leaks, the radiator is new, oil consumption is normal, cooling system seems to be working fine.

The shortage is evident only in the radiator, the reservoir is full.

Thr car drove about 60,000 miles

Hi i have a 2001 1.9 D55 kangoo with the epic fuel pump.
It runs and drives ok but when you go into engine over run it goes into llimp mode and the glow plug comes on, i can stop and restart engine and the fault is gone or turn the ignition and on again while still moving and the light goes off and normal revs are restored ,you can drive for miles...

Thata why you have better consumption in summer than winter. You need a full ev if you want to heat the car with the battery. 1kw is not enough to run tbe car and heat it

I cleared the Error code P0101.
I disconnected the positive pole on the battery and hold it on to the negative pole for 5 seconds to discharge and reset the ECU.

Can anyone help with a wiring problem please.
On a Lucas epic pump I found some bare wires hidden inside the sleeving, would these cause the pump to only supply a low pressure at the injectors or do I have a mechanical problem also. It’s the blue and the brown wires that appear to go to a solenoid between the pump and the engine also.

Would anyone know if the boot catch motor has a fuse, not the boot latch, it is the catch, took it to Manchester Airport left it two weeks came back to it and got a roof warning sign on dash instantly, the latch is working ok, as is the button on the boot lid, but it is not pulling the lid down now and the catch is at its bottom position when the...

FIXED!
Rather embarrassing really, a dry catch pivot.
I always lube latches, hinges, roof locks and rollers above screen, clean and krytox seals but ALWAYS forget that boot catch, why would you lube a catch you don't lube the door catches, I keep forgetting the boot catch is motorised, so if you own a Megane mk3 CC remember to lube your boot catch...

Have the fault code P1070 but cant find the MAP sensor. Must be on the inlet manifold before the turbo but where?

Well for interest the MAP sensor is at the right hand end of the inlet manifold. Held in place with one 8mm bolt. Removed tested and replaced. Fault code gone. Total cost £22.30 from partsinmotion.

RX4 tyre query

RX4 went in for CT the other day (french MOT) and was failed on the 2 rear tyres. Ordered 2 more, and when I went to the garage the mechanic (a proper mechanic not some unbarbered youth that fits tyres) said that it was advisable to replace all 4 tyres at the same time, to avoid potential problems with the gearbox / transmission.

It makes sense, well almost, I can see their point when 4 wheel drive cars had 'fixed' transmissions, gears & propshafts, and it was an option to have a limited slip differential, but is it still relevant these days, where most have constant vilosity (fluid) couplings somewhere along the driveline? Just a thought.

I have a bit of a head scratcher. I've got a 2016 Renault Master Ambulance which show Low Battery approx 30 seconds after starting. Both the chassis battery and Aux battery are good and charging from the alternator. The alternator has been tested and replaced (although not a genuine Renault unit, it's a Lucas 180A one).

Also check not only the batteries to chassis earth strap - nice clean metal, no rust, no paint, and a smear of Copper Grease to improve conductivity.
The same on the earth strap Chassis to engine.
If the earth straps are at all suspect I would change them.

Hi group! I am a new owner of a 2010 grand scenic 1.9dci and was just wondering if there’s any hardcore DCI owners out there that have come across any known issues with this engine? Mine is specifically a NON DPF version and 130bhp manual gearbox.

The turbo fails on them and injectors are supposed to be a nightmare to Extract. This is a Renault engine used in the nissan primastar and the very rare 1.9 primera. Not a good engine, the 2.2DCI was a much better engine built by Nissan.

I have a carminat radio/cd/GPS.
I have been trying to connect with a auxiliary cable. I have followed instructions on YouTube but when it states to go to EXPERT then scroll to Update then aux then on/off. It goes directly back to the radio. Concequently I cannot connect to my phone.

So my Renault Clio from 2019, 0,9 tce engine, is on its third set of discs and pads. (done 69.000 miles)

When I got my second set of disc and pad on at 33000 miles, this thing started happening where the brakes would ROAR when you applied them

I have a early MK3 Megane, if you cast your eyes down toward the gear stick you will see a small panel in the lower dash, as it is an early one it only has AV ports in it behind that useless flap, does anyone know of a kit that can be purchased to convert these ports to an SD card reader, the later models have a usb connection in there, mine...
