Given the number of 'After-sales campaign' notices concerning Takarta Airbags I have been made aware of when looking up parts from PSA for members, I thought I would post a link to the following documentary that may be informative concerning the issue with these igniters.

According to Takata, the chemicals in the airbags’ explosive charge can...

This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

Hydraflushing?

by alan s » 28 Apr 2005, 12:30

First post

Well the usual reason for using Hydraflsuh is because the system is full of crap.
The LHM tank has a white plastic disc in the bottom and the crap accumulates under that so if you just syphon it out, you get rid of the old LHM but then leave all the garbage in there which will be stirred up as soon as you fill with the flusher and can possibly...

Morning everyone, I am going to do a Hydra flush then Lhm change soon I was just wondering is it possible to syphon the old LHM out of the tank before filling with Hydraflush. I'm just being lazy and just wondered how much would come out this way instead of removing the tank twice?

Blimy the more I think about the car the more problems I remember. My next is the fuel pump in the Fuel tank. Do they hum quite loudly from time to time and is it anything to worry about or should I just put up with it? I am assuming it's the pump as it's from under the o/s rear footwell and doesn't change with engine speed.

Hydra flush

by JohnD » 24 Sep 2004, 11:59

First post

Whether to use or not to use! Depends on how the system has been treated in its past life. If changes have been neglected, giving it a flush would help. What does the old LHM look like? If it's a bright green, don't bother. If it's muddy brown, then use it.

Last post

Hi Everyone, I'm going to change the LHM fluid soon. As my car now has 50,000 on the clock would it also be worth treating the system to Hydra Flush before hand? Or is this a bit OTT? Have seen the posts on changing the fluid all seem's easy enough. Any handy hint's before I commence.

Yup, three. One on each suspension arm and one in the middle. However the one in the middle has a small pipe connected to it. The hint is to hold the pipe nut and turn the sphere off it.
