My Xantia 2000sx 1994 keeps collecting water in the rear seat wells.
When I lift the seats to carry large items I discovered it.
Does anyone know where it comes from? The seals all seem OK and the doors fit and the roof glass fits snugly. Does anybody please have any suggestions.
The rear screen wash dosn't work. Any connection?? (Advice on the...

I've just changed the rear spheres on a 1.9td dimension 1996 N.
Got confused when reading haynes manual and fitted hydractive ones by mistake, will this make a great deal of differance to the suspension.
I will be changing front ones over the bank holiday should i also change the accumalator sphere at the same time as when i press the brake peddle...

Hi
My xantia 1.9TD (1995) has started whinning. The sound is coming from the front left. I assume it is the gearbox because when I put the clutch down it stops! This has only started since I have had a new clutch. Is it likely to be the gearbox? Is there anything I can do apart from getting a new gearbox?
Cheers
Andy

Hello all!
As header, radio is intermittent. Original was working fine, but I changed it for a Pioneer RDS model which worked fine for about 8 months. Suspecting a problem with the new radio (intermittent sound/tuning/switching off - dodgy connection with face off plate) i swapped it for a brand new cd tuner. Connections are all ok as I've used...

Help . Very difficult to start , gives every indication of air in the system, but I have bypassed the tank and used a gravity feed to the filter and still get the same problem . It is worse when hot than cold I would estimate it takes three times as much turning over when hot . Once started it goes like a rocket , no smoke , no loss of power , and...

I wonder if someone can tell me what is this little black bottle-like thing on my 1997 Xantia SX 2.0i (just beside the battery).
It has two rubber roses connected on it.
I just found out that one of these roses is broken off, probably since I bought the car, but I don't know what problem is this causing.
The car seems ok, though.
Thanks anyone....

Hi ...Could anyone please tell me where the windscreen washer PUMP Motor is on the zx estate.........

I have an oil leak on my ZX TD Volcane but i am having difficulty in tracing it without stripping it down. it appears to be coming from behind the fuel pump viewed from the front but could be coming from the camshaft oil seal?, i am losing about 1 litre every 2 weeks and the offside of my car will now never need wax-oiling as it has coated the...

The linkage on the rear height adjuster of my xantia has become detatched.I have reconnected it by pushing the plastic cup onto the metal lug but it keeps detatching itself. Is there some sort of spring clip missing to hold it in posistion or is the linkage just worn out and in need of replacment

Can anyone please help? I changed the front spheres on my Xantia a couple of weeks ago ( by using 36 stilsons and after breaking both a chain wrench and a strap wrench ). Ever since it has made a groaning noise when the front settles after stopping. This is embarrasing as everyone looks when you pull up anywhere.

hi all
i recently baught a 97 1.8 16v xantia, it has only 28000 miles from new and it came from a good home which had it fully citroen serviced.

Hi,
I have just bought a Xantia Activa, and I can hear an electric pump (or at least that is what it sounds like) running even after the car is stopped. I knew that it has long term cooling, so thought nothing of it. When it was still running next morning, I started wondering.
Is this normal, or even common?
Thanks,
Alan

I am desperate! The car just will not start on the starter when hot or just warm. No sign of it firing. But get it rolling at walking pace and it will bump start OK. Checked the glow plugs and timer, put clear pipe between filter and injector pump - no air getting in. Fed up of parking on slopes everywhere I go. Any suggestions?

A rear stub axil has broken on my 1995 AX diesel and I need to replace the complete rear axil.
Would the axil off of a G reg AX GT fit?
Cheers,
Dene.

The first problem started with a heavy ticking noise whenever I accelerated whilst turning right. I assume this is the L/H universal joint on the drive shaft. The shaft also emits an unhealthy clunk whenever the car is about to reverse, after letting off the footbrake, particularly when starting to reverse down a slope. The second problem started...

I have temporarily, cable tied a Turbo Boost gauge on top the steering column in front of the centre of the Rev. counter. Has anyone fitted a boost gauge, if so where has it been fitted. I don't want to mess the console or the dash to much with holes, etc.

Hi everyone!!
I recently decided to check the pollen (cabin) filter on my Xantia Exclusive, as it is the first car i have owned with one fitted i thought i would check the Haynes manual first, just to make sure!! The manual i have is for the earlier Xantia models and it says there are three screws retaining the pollen filter, my Xantia is a new...

Can someone tell me the proceedure for changing rear disc pads on my 1997 Xantia? Is it a complicated business, or simple like a Cortina, and is their any spilling of fluid or bleeding necessary???

The ABS light on the control panel has suddenly decided to remain on on a 1994 Xantia TD SX. Could this really be a fault with the ABS or could it just be a fault with the sensor? The brakes seem to work the same as before, i.e. the ABS seems to be working fine.

Can anyone help please. I have a 1993 Xantia 2.0 8valve LX.
On the front of the sump there is an electrical plug with nothing attached. What is its purpose please.

For once the BX isn't causing me any grief - largely due to the fact it's been sat in the garage not being used for weeks ;-)
Jane's ZX on the other hand is looking very second hand! Any help with the following much appreciated...
1. Exhaust - the very tail section fell off on the M25 at the weekend, the system seemed to be blowing anyway so was...

My Heater has packed up. The Fan has stopped running on all 4 speeds, I have checked fuses in the fuse board but all are OK. Is there an in-line fuse? Any hints would be appreciated.

Furhter to my rear suspension problem I have sourced another complete rear set-up which is supposed to be from a volcane. How can I be sure without fitting and hours of work. The 'new' replacement has bosch abs sensors but I can't ell if its actually from a volcane

My 1993 ZX Volcane TD 95,000 miles has gradually got more dificult to start over the last few weeks.
I fitted a new battery less than two years ago and new glow-plugs 12 months ago.
It turns over fine (slightly faster after a battery charge overnight!) but will not catch.
It has now got to the point that it won't start at all.
I have checked that...

I have a much loved 94 volcane td which has had a replacement rear axle fitted. The axle came from a 97 306 and was fitted by local mechanic. Car was returned looking like an allegro if anyone can remember! The ride height is far too high. Should i look for a complete replacement volcane axle? are the torsion bars on the fitted 306 axle as stiff...

Does anyone know if its possible to repair a Xantia key? The one on the Xantia I just bought (it has ONE button, not two) is missing the rubber covering, exposing the circuit inside - perhaps someone has a bit of DIY in this regard. Spare keys of the remote type aren't available in my country. I don't know if the remote facility on mine works,...

I've got the age old sinking feeling with the driver side door on an F-reg 1.9RD BX. The door has dropped an easy 1cm in the last year, to a total of an inch and a half. The door also seems to be buckling at the top.
What is the correct way to fix this? I assume welding is the cure (which is fine because i know a man who can weld snot to silk...

Hi all,
I have an 1994 zx 14i 5 door. The passenger door won't open from the inside. It does lock when I use central locking, but the passenger door can only be opened from the outside! I would appreciate any help or advice with this one. Thanks in advance, Stephen.

Can someone tell me if the engine oil dipstick on the Xantia 2.0i is the same on the Peugeot, and if so which model - the plastic on mine just came apart in my hands.

if anybody else is considering putting a pug 306 td head on a xantia td , i will point out that you have to close off the oil feed on the back of the pug head (just under the end of the camshaft) . The xantia head it uses a set screw (allen head) to block of the oil gallery at either end ( front and back ). The pug 306 td uses steel balls...
