I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

I think the sooner we move away from fossil fuels, the better. I don't agree with the extra tax, but it ought to be put towards road maintenance, and some into a new technologies development fund.

Wow! don't Xantias drink! My well serviced BX (NA) diesel can always be relied on to exceed 50 MPG but If I don't drive it like a thug, I can get 59. I am staggered that this engine won't return at least 40 and I would be looking at the fuel and air filters with a very hard stare!

My xantia 1.9TD aquired in March returns on average 34 MPG. This figure is significantly above the book figure of 31.7

We have a dual fuel (has both LPG and petrol tanks) Astra at work and it is noticably more rough and has less power when running on LPG.
I'm not the only one to notice and some of the people I work with don't notice a flat tyre until it comes off the rim.
I don't know if that's the norm or there is something wrong with it. Or if the other engines...

That reminds me of many years ago when a colleage in the motor trade asked me to weld up a GSA for the MOT, promising handsome payment as he didn't fancy the job.

The discount cards come with certain clubs and organisations and constitute group buying (give a thousand members discount and guess where they will shop!!). As far as i know they all give a 10% discount at GSF.

GS underpowered?
I remember my dad towing a friend from the Peak district to Leeds with our GSA. It was only when they got to their destination that they found the handbrake was on on the car being towed.
Sadly, yes the rustbucket allegation is true. And they can be awkward to work on.

Citroen UK Car Spare Prices?

I had a 1992 XM for a couple of years, during which time I had to replace every rubber coolant hose at an average cost of £40 each. Jubilee clips extra.
Citroen seem to have had a problem producing durable rubber. I also had to replace the fuel hose, LHM return hoses, and the rubber engine mount blocks were from a bad batch of hard rubber...

Citroen BX SPARE Prices I recently had to purchase a top water hose for my 1993 1.9 TXD Saloon, and could only get them through a main dealer. To my surprise the cost was just over £40 including 2 x jubilee clips!

I am sceptical, Jon. This could be a it of black propaganda, a misunderstanding in the translation or a dodgy garage where they didn't like Brits. I would like to see this confirmed if it can be, having a vested interest, so to speak. BTW tyres in France are not appreciably cheaper than in the UK it appears.

Was reading on the Caravan Club Forum (!!!) about a guy who got a puncture in France, and needed a new tyre. He was told that by law in France tyre makes must NOT be mixed on the same axle, in fact some places insist you have the same make on each corner. He had to buy a pair of Michelins so that he could continue on his way! His problems did not...

Many, Many years ago. That car was an embarassment to ford...and thats saying something.

1. very dodgy fitted gearbox, meant that each gear was at a severe angle. This resulting in a gear change from 4th to 1st, at 70mph, and before I could dip the clutch - Bang, Clatter,...

Just been told that one of Australias first ever dedicated Motor racing circuits which was looking down the barrel at redevlopment a 'la housing blocks, has been Heritage listed.
Some of the World's best known drivers competed here & lauded the quality of the overall layout of the track plus it's picturesque setting. I had a couple of runs on it...

C2 UK release date?

According to Top Gear magazine it will be on sale in the UK at the end of this year. I assume they get their info direct from Citroen.

According to my 'ill-informed' local dealer, the C2 will be released about Sept 2003 and the initial line-up will not include the diesel
Then again, he also said that they hadn't had any official info from Citroen and that the only picture he'd seen of it was a tiny pic in a magazine! He obviously has no access to the Internet

evening all,
i've now the proud owner of one the andyspares stickers on my white xantia, but a swear i'm the only one in suffolk who has got one on their car,
as i see loads of citroens around, whilst driving to work etc.....
is it just me or am i going mad
has anybody else noticed this as well??

One of the stupid things about this is that if they had rushed the patient to the kidney instead of the kidney to the patient. At the same speed but in a (bigger) less safe vehicle. Then they would not have been prosecuted because of the way this particular authority have chosen to read the rule book.

He was on an emergency delivery from Leeds to Cambridge, a journey of 160 miles using flashing blue lights. He was 'caught' on the A1 doing 104mph. The bloke was a trained advanced...
