BL and Austin Rover

Post by Jon »

If you have a sad fascination for the cars of the 60's and 70's, then check out this excellent website
http://austinrover.mg-rover.org/index.htm
Once I found it I was on it for hours, every single BMC/BL car is documented, together with many in-depth development stories, plus the history of the various company's failures.
All credit to Keith Adams, the site owner, its one of the most interesting automotive sites I've visited, even if you love or loath 'em.

Tenuous French car link, Jon: Pininfarina reshaped both the BL1100 and the 1800. Lord Stokes (who was the wrong man for the job,) rejected the proposals which resurfaced some years later looking suspiciously like the GS and CX.
