Wiring - Citroën BX 14

Here I need your help—everyone who drives a TU3 (1.4) engine (maby its the same with bigger engines - who knows).

I’m currently replacing the engine wiring harness. Unfortunately, the previous owner "modified" things here as well, and I don’t fully understand why and how it should be. I’d like to put it back the correct way.

The two connectors are about 30 cm apart. In the third photo, you can see the mating connector (male) at the bottom in the center; it also has three wires—its function is still unclear.

Photo 1:
The wires of the 3-pin connector appear to have already been repaired (?). They disappear into an insulated cable. The middle pin (green) is connected to the center of the thicker cable (turquoise) and then runs all the way to the brown AWP connector, where it connects to a second wire.

The third wire of the white connector (black—see Photo 1) goes to the sheath/shield of the thick cable but, as shown in Photo 2, is not connected anywhere.
Could someone please double-check this? It shouldn’t take long.

I’d also be very grateful for any additional information, e.g. what the white connector is responsible for

I'm afraid I can't help here as the backup I have does not cover the BX

I've got a Haynes manual with the wiring diagrams but there are many, some only do the "All 1987 models." then there are the "1988 on" ones, again there are many from 1 - 8 according to which circuit you need.
If I could see which you need I'll try to scan and post it for you.

my BX is the 1990 TU3M version 1.4l engine.
Mostly I am interested in the wiring in the engine Bay.

I have no use for it now and I've offered it on ebay but no takers.

How is Berlin looking now? My daughter was stationed at RAF Gatow before the wall came down and I visited for five days, went through Checkpoint Charlie and had a day in the East, shopped and dined in the KDV went to see the Berlin philharmonic orchestra and saw Simon and Garfunkel at the Olympic arena.

Berlin is 630 km away from me. I’ve been there three times so far, the last time about 10 years ago, and I can assure you that it looks very different than it used to – but still ugly
I can tell you a lot more about Heidelberg; I live near there.
