Hi all
I have a citroёn c5 iii estate (rw) 2.0 hdi 165 163 hp diesel rhh (dw10cted4) - as determined by numerous parts sites on entering my car reigistration.
I'm in need of a power steering pipe - part number 4014NV which I am advised is no longer manufactured. (I also need part number 4012V3 but this, apparently, is available from the dealers).
I'm asking on here if anyone knows of
a) any sites in the UK or otherwise which might be able to supply obsolete items or
b) any sites which might have manuals, photographs or illustrations of the relevant power steering set-up so I can at least get an idea of what the pipe I need looks like?
My VIN number is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
(Citroen are miffing me off a bit with what you might call their planned obsolescence. I had to dump my last car, (mk2 C5), because the suspension pipes were not available.)
Thanking any respondents in anticipation

Re: citroёn c5 iii estate (rw) 2.0 hdi power steering pipes
Unfortunately the power steering pipe failures are mostly down to the steering rack failures (rusting at the pinion, destruction of seals) which is well documented in this forum and I myself had 3 racks on mine before I sold her on. This has led to a large demand on the pipes as they rarely seal properly after re-use. As the vehicle ended production in 2016, spares for these quickly ran out and the rack was unique to the X7, so not fitted to other vehicles in the group.
We can help if you need an original, genuine part number or part diagram, and can't already find the info you need on the Forum. For this service, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 2 years, so excellent value.

Are you 100% sure it is the pipe and not fluid dripping down from the steering wheel input shaft as a faulty seal is very common.

Hi there and thanks for the response.
I've been told by one garage it was pipes and possibly seals in the rack. (The rack was replaced before I bought it). That garage said they didn't have the cantilever jack/ramp necessary to do the work, (without mentioning the lack of availability of pipes). They recommended going to another garage who have been known for decades to work on citroens.
The second garage (as recommended) told me that two pipes needed replacing. One pipe was available but I'd have to find the other myself.
Judging by the rate of discharge of the fluid, I would suspect a ruptured pipe.
Both garages have the means of viewing the problem better than I can on ramps.

FYI, you only need to remove a small plate at the base of the steering column in the drivers footwell.....3 fixings.....and you can see the steering rack seals.....you CANNOT correctly check without removing this plate (eg, looking from below/side).

Hi Colin, here is the diagram showing said pipes:
(1) Steering High Pressure Pipe, part: 4014NV is marked as no longer available as you say.
(2) Steering Low Pressure Pipe, part: 4012V3 is available from Citroen, £109.19 inc. VAT.
Chevronics did have them used, but are out of stock:
