part number information wanted

Post by Dormouse »

the following numbers appear on my 3008 Hybrid4 Controlled Air intake Module.
Can anyone shed any further light on it and find it in any parts list?

It’s the Bosch number of a 3008 Intercooler air chamber guide. I have a feeling it’s not sold as a separate item.

I'm having trouble identifying that from your picture as it is too close to put it in context with its surroundings, but these are the bumper assembly diagrams and the nearest thing I can locate to it is item (30) which is the Pilot Air Intake Module. There are several diagrams for your VIN depending on the build, so I've included both:

Dor Except Mid Life.PNG

Hopefully you'll know which version you have from the other features of the body work / lighting as there are specific differences you can match up.

I already know that -= I had to buy one! turns out the stepper motor actuator is replaceable and only costs £30-40 brand new. I bought a new old stock one for a tenner and have cleaned and rebuilt the old unit -= so if someone wants a bargain, anything over £30 might buy it. Otherwise it is a very expensive ornament. I have started a parallel thread playing Hunt The Other Cars With a Intercooler Air Control unit. There are quite a few so far. T9 version of 308 has one in the range. 507SW has one too. plus Fords, Volvos, Opels all list the stepper motor and or a Contollled Air unit.

try part no
9673420580
it is associated with the Controlled Air Module no 30 apparently and it should hopefully be the stepper motor actuator

PSA don't sell them separately - only the complete modules - I've just provided the OEM part number which you were missing.

In that case, for anybody else reading this in the future, the stepper motor which was faullty and the Air Vane part which was perfect was repaired by buying the Sonceboz (Bosch) actuator separately from Ford. True cost £30-40. Mines cost £10 as a NOS part

The main vane module would be the part in an accident or pheasant strike that would get damaged but my actuator was damaged by salt spray from travelling behind an artic in late December last year. The 4 pin connector let in and held the spray water in the joint and caused all the issues. I had to replace the 4 pin plug as well which we got from the VW parts bin.

Main Air Vane Unit/ part no 30 in the pictures

The vanes are completely perfect and the unit has washed up well.
You can see the progressive movement of the shutters in the 3 shots of the whole unit and the end shot shows where the actuator clips in place. The actuator is obviously a removable/replaceable part. Why I could not get only the actuator I don't know!
