Lucas epic pump.
Hi , pump packed up, got a 2nd hand one but cogwheel was removed. Anybody know how to refit in correct position? Theres a slot in the spindle but no woodruff key in the wheel! ( on either the old or new pump!) There are some dots stamped on one of the wheel spokes. Do i line them up with the slot on the spindle perhaps? HELP!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Still struggling with this! What if i manually crank the engine and note when fuel comes out of no.1 piston pipe to injector? Should that happen ay TDC for example? Any ideas anyone?

Re: Lucas epic pump.
The second link I gave above links to the factory procedure for pinning the pump and engine to TDC.
Once that is done, fit the belt and set the fine static timing by aligning the pump on the bracket.
