Greetings,
Kees.
Can you describe the procedure a little bit? Do i need to access the stiffness regulator also?

,,- after rebuilding the steering rack, i have a vibration that could be feel even in the trunk, all 3 engine mounts seems to be ok."

What do you think about this? The vibration can be felt only in P, D and R, in N it's gone. I can feel the vibration and loud noise all over the car especially in R with the steering wheel turned to max. It might be a torque converter problem or it's not the case?

Thank you!

Start with the section Troubleshooting, not repair, than the part suspension and find the section for command to test the stiff regulator at front. Stop the engine and let somebody stay at front, he can listen if he hear the click and push down the front.
You see on the screen if the time is running out, then you can repeat it again.
This is also for the back stiffness regulator.

GolfMk1Vr6, Sorry to hear you r still having issues. I suggest you look into the post I go about checking the sphere conditions in sport and normal setting.
Suspension bushes and engine mountings I recommend original or known high quality ones. Or you get good quality used original ones. Most bushing is DIRECTIONAL and if position wrongly makes the car handles badly. Tighten lower arms at ride height is very important. Tyre pressures will also affect vibration at idle.
Sorry I didnt reply the last time as I hardly come over to this forum

- after rebuilding the steering rack, i have a vibration that could be feel even in the trunk, all 3 engine mounts seems to be ok.

- stiff suspension, even after the 7th front center sphere was regassed. I noticed that when it becomes stiff, the vibration i was talking about is also present, it's a noisy vibration, it sounds like the engine is running at over 1000 rpm at idle, but it sits constantly at 900 rpm.
Hiya, sorry you're still finding these problems. I've had similar apart from the stiff suspension. Not sure if this will help with the vibration but I was getting a vibration similar to yours in the weeks after rebuilding the steering rack and this week I checked the lower torque stay where it meets the subframe and found that although the bolt was 'tight' there was looseness found at the bushing. I found that I could continue to tighten the bolt until the looseness went away. It was barely perceived.

It's likely I did not tighten this to the correct torque because I didn't know the value. And you can't get a torque wrench in there anyway. Cut to the end: the vibration has ceased and I I'm certain this was the reason. Just sharing what I found this week.

@aerodynamica

Do you mean this bolt is not tightened enough? Is it necessary to remove the subframe again in order to be checked? Thanks!

Hi, yes that bolt. However that picture is a different model to mine. On mine the bolt is horizontal, across. The larger rubber silentblock is on the lower casting of the engine (possibly part of the driveshaft support bearing).

If yours is like the photo then likely this bolt was not loosened. Instead perhaps the one at the other end of the torque stay.

You need to remove the left drive shaft and beneath the subframe the 6mm bolt with hold the airco tube.
And then with a long chisel you can hammer it loose.
I did this already a few times with different car's
Greetings,
Kees.
Hi Kees,
I'm planning on doing this on my C5 2.2 2014 Tourer. Just wondering where the 6mm bolt holding the aircon is located? Is it the red one i'm pointing at in picture or is it somewhere else further down?

Cheers

No, when you follow the tube from the front on the left side, you find the place where it is mounted by this bolt on the subframe.
