Citroen C5 X7 aux belt diagram?
Hello to all more intelligent than me!
My aux belt snapped, so some advices, please.
Could someone show me the diagram for the belt route.
Is there any tips or tricks? I suppose I need to remove the front right wheel, but anything else?
My car is C5 X7 2009, 2.0hdi automatic.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 aux belt diagram?
Here you go:
Yes, you'll need to remove the front right wheel and mud shield.
Compress the dynamic tensioner (1) in the anti-clockwise direction ( as "b"), using tool [1].
Peg the dynamic tensioner (1) at "a", using tool [2].
Remove the accessories drive belt (2).
ESSENTIAL: Check that the roller (1) turns freely (no play or tight spot).
Refitting
Refit the ancillary belt (Observe the following order):
Support the dynamic roller tensioner (1) ( as "b"), using tool [1].
Remove the tool [2].
Progressively decompress the dynamic tensioner to tension the accessories belt.
Refit the mud shield and wheel, tightening to 10 ± 1 daN.m

Thank you Marc, AGAIN!
What do you think, is it safe to drive the car about 10 miles to garage? Of course with no lights and no fan etc.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 aux belt diagram?
The danger would be if there is any debris that could become entangled with the timing belt, which has happened with Xantias. Hopefully your engine is better protected.

If you mean remains of the old belt, I don’t think so. It came off totally, I presume.myglaren wrote: 07 Oct 2019, 13:16 The danger would be if there is any debris that could become entangled with the timing belt...

Re: Citroen C5 X7 aux belt diagram?
Yes, perfectly safe to do if there is no old belt in the way.
Mine snapped off and I didn't even know about it until 20 miles later when getting home and parking - when the power steering went a bit stiff.
If you have the electro pump power steering, this works on battery power, as does the suspension (which only uses the pump occasionally as needed). The only issue you will have is the battery condition itself that could be drained as it is powering all the electrical systems. So switch off heating, radio and any other systems you don't need until you get to the garage, and if the battery is getting weaker, you will notice it at lower speeds (turning at junctions / parking) as that needs more assistance. But 10 miles should be no problem at all.

The tensioner is also broken, it is not spinning freely. Bought a new one, but my question is:
Does anyone remember the size of the hex bolt? Does it have normal or opposite threads?

Re: Citroen C5 X7 aux belt diagram?
Thank you! It is indeed that #76. I didn’t realize it is so big, a 10mm hex!

Just to add clarity for future reference:Viitonen wrote: 08 Oct 2019, 14:46 The tensioner is also broken, it is not spinning freely. Bought a new one, but my question is:

The mounting bolt (number 76 on Marc's diagram below) is conventional thread.
It is possible to find replacement pulleys (literally pulley and integral sealed ball bearing) online. If only the pulley is giving up.
Note the bolt in the centre of the pulley itself, usually a 15mm hex, is an anticlockwise thread and also has threadlock applied.
Sorry can't help with belt part number. If the belt is not completely mangled then the belt designation is usually printed on the belt itself. Will be a number, something like 6PK800 or 6PK1750.
6pk = multi V belt with 6 grooves
800 / 1750 = belt length in millimetres

Re: Citroen C5 X7 aux belt diagram?
Darren, pop your VIN up if you want the official part number for the belt for your specific vehicle.

Another thread resurrection is there perhaps a torque value for aux belt tensioner bolt #76?
Car has a VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] if it helps.
