Thanks, great news. Not sure why I didn't check on that earlier myself.

Got the fascia off pretty easily, but then came the next learning: car radio release keys. RNEG MyWay is a Becker, so needs a set of those flat ones, which I of course did not have. Buying a set like this tomorrow:

True but the upcoming RT6 has square holes. Might as well be prepared with the set. There may be other stereos to be fitted later.

They will be the round ones I think you'll find, but they should be in your kit.

Learning: buying the whole 20pc kit proved useful (15€). Multiple types of standalone keys are labeled Becker and only one set worked perfectly on the RNEG. Push the Becker keys all the way in and it unlocks, no need to twist and turn anything.

Kit also had nice angled ones for RNEG2 (rightmost on the red bag picture). Straight design got stuck in the holes.

lkraav wrote: 30 May 2018, 14:35 I just ordered a set of RT6+DG4+cables from ebay. Looking forward to the install job.

Install is done. Was quite plug n play, but one big problem remains.

PROS
* DG4 screen resolution is indeed significantly better
* BT A2DP audio works
* software has received usability updates (better autocompletes etc); need to update 2.75 -> 2.86 now + find new maps
* car settings status screen

PROBLEMS
* satnav doesn't work "0 satellites found" message - wiring seems to be connected correctly, FM radio works perfectly (even w/ just grey connected). Any ideas? See pic below. Only grey antenna connector is nicely housed for some reason on this unit. Previous RNEG had all 3 connectors housed. EDIT I sent my ebay seller a complaint about the the dysfunction + naked connectors, we'll see what he comes up with for a reply.
* BT phonebook download seems to fail vs my SailfishX phone (we'll try wife's iPhone later)

Hi. It looks like `RT6-Rear.png` attachment has expired. Is there a more permanent way of re-attaching it?

Ok, thanks for pointing that out - they haven't expired, but we are experiencing some technical issues at present that is affecting some of the posts. I will try and resolve this for you shortly.

Update: I have re-uploaded the images, so you should be able to see them now. :-D

Hey, great thread! It would be a good idea to add comulative info on how much you have spent so far for all the mods...:)

I am considering myself to switch from RT4 to RT6(RNEG2), but on a slightly older 2007 C5 series II (facelift). I have few questions before I get into spending a lot of money...

1. How can I distinguish the CAN2004 and CAN2010 units? I know the SMEG can be configured to work with both, how about the RT6? I've read somewhere that if it has a "facade" it is CAN2004, if not - CAN2010, could someone confirm that?
2. I have a DEVHR display from an RT5 (9664936580-00), would it work with the RT6? The connectors look the same...
3. Do you need online access with authorized diag-box or just a normal lexia would do for the programming?
4. And a difficult one - would it be possible to use the RT4 facade on the RT6? The connector on the motherboard looks the same, but many of the buttons are different.

Thanks a lot!
Vladimir

The C5 MK II 2004 - 2007 is CAN2004, so you will need a compatible AEE2004 RT6 unit.

You need a compatible HD screen for the RT6 (DG4) or one that came from an RT6 unit.
You cannot download software with a clone really - but you will need to configure the ECUs using Lexia / Diagbox.
Not sure what you are asking on the last question? Are you talking about changing the fascia of the RT6 for the RT4 one? I don't see how you can as everything is different functionally....

Thanks Mark!
So, you're saying I can configure it manually with a clone lexia then? Also the VIN change etc?

Hi Vladimir, yes, you can VIN code the Head Unit using Lexia and also configure the BSI for the new unit. :-D

I have rneg myway (bluetooth,sd card).

Can i only change radio to any higher model without changing display?
I'm thinking about version with hard drive(pic attached).
It will work, or i need change dispaly too to have radio with usb?

You should be OK if fitting the RT4 (as in your picture), but you will need the High Res Screen for the NG4 (Navidrive 3D) or RT6 (no hard drive on RT6). The RT4 should work with both screen types, but the high-res screens are hard to find and also need a slightly larger fascia panel on the C5 X7.

So yes, you should be able to use your existing MyWay screen.
