Given the number of 'After-sales campaign' notices concerning Takarta Airbags I have been made aware of when looking up parts from PSA for members, I thought I would post a link to the following documentary that may be informative concerning the issue with these igniters.

According to Takata, the chemicals in the airbags’ explosive charge can...

Disruption to Parts Service

As you may be aware, the consolidation of the old PSA to the Stellantis Group systems has resulted in both a merge of data tools and a requirement to migrate PSA accounts to Stellantis Systems.

This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

I would like to know which is the plus and minus from the power cable. The car in...

Hello guys

Does anyone know why after upgrading the firmware of my C5's NG4 unit to the latest version (n42c-42.03) the icon that indicates the speed of the blower fan disappeared and now it doesen's show? Did anyone experienced the same issue?
The blower is working properly, also the buttons that increase or decrease the speed of it. It only...

Last post

Ok, that must be a coincidence as the NG4 has nothing to do with the Climate control unit - none of the readings or functions are related to the unit at all as the Climate ECU is a separate unit and will still function even if the NG4 unit is removed.

I suggest for now you just select the temperature you want and set it on AUTO and it will do...

Android app to read notifications on the NG4

by nico06 » 30 Nov 2018, 14:05

Dear All,

As mentioned in this other subject here is a quick post on my experience searching apps that read on the car speaker notification from my Android phone (a Chinese oukitel-no-name, I am not really into the hype phone). The NG4 seems to have only the bluetooth profiles to act as a phone handsfree / headset. So we cannot play music, read...

It might be Google maps and the App specifically with frequent voice instructions - so may have more or less kept the HF going so no music.

It's at least an alternative if you are desperately in need of Sat Nav though.

NG4 Is there any battery inside?

Hi,
I have 7 years old NG4 in my P308. In last days I noticed that after swithing on the unit, clock on my NG4 is reset to 01:00 and display of clock is flashing. This happens usually when I do not use a car for a day or two. After receiving GPS signal, clock is correct again but still flashing until I confirm via SETUP.

I am quite sure that car...

Definitely no backup battery, as all the data is stored on the hard disk and in the flash memory. The only battery is in the services module as I mentioned before for emergency powering of the speaker, the microphone and for the actual emergency call.

I still suggest you try a reset of the unit, and if you still have problems a factory reset....

Hi and welcome.

Do you have the NG4 (Navidrive 3D) or the RT4 system?
The pictures for each are in the Audio & Telematics Main page here and will be the second or the third picture.

If you have the NG4 (Navidrive 3D) the system is likely going into backup mode because of the temperature inside the unit. The official causes are listed as:...

Sorry - only just seen this post.

The NG4 system is dependent on having the correct equipment other than the head unit and also must be VIN coded AND configured to the vehicle using Diagbox / Lexia.
The NG4 is designed to work with the MDS Service module, which is linked to the Microphone and the Head unit via the CAN system. So unless you got...

Can you connect an iPhone to the USB port to play music on this system? Reading the manual i'm not sure its just bad with its terminology , I'm doing something wrong, i need a newer firmware to do it or it just cannot be done.

It says connecting an iPod, and an iPhone with the Music player acts like an iPod on other devices like my home cinema...

Last post

Can't be done - the USB will charge the phone and will play WMA and MP3 files on an actual USB stick directly, but will not play files from an iPhone's music library. You can also use the SD card in the Navidrive 3D to play the same - which is what I do.

You can connect video or audio sources to the AUX socket in the glovebox - and select this as...

I have a set of discs to update my maps. Basic question - how/where do I load them? The obvious place seems to be where I insert an audio CD, are there any other slots? But when I start the installation (step 1: firmware upgrade with the supplied CD) after about a minute I get a message Read error - source cannot be played . If I skip the firmware...

Righto RT4. All the firmware is supplied as standard with the OFFICIAL map updates as part of the package, bot OP has got a used kit with some of the discs missing it seems. I think he's sorted for the firmware now, fingers crossed on the map update now!

Sorry for all the questions but i've just tried uploading some music from my USB. I select 'copy all' files. There are three folders with an equivalent of a CD of tracks on each. There's a very good reason for it - the NG4 system doesn't support Bluetooth music streaming! It does just about everything else though, hence why I suggested it. You have to remember this was a 2008/9 system and probably designed a few years previous to that, so they can't support every future development of Bluetooth. They did provide several...

C5 Jukebox problem with track order

by splinternet » 22 Apr 2016, 14:49

When copying (ripping?) CDs to the Jukebox of my C5 Mk III 59-plate, for some CDs it picks up the name of each track, whereas for others it doesn't (it calls them Track1, Track2, etc...). Whilst with the latter it stores the tracks in the same order they're in on the CD (although you don't know the name of the tracks), annoyingly and puzzlingly,...

Of course the other great thing with the SD card is there are no moving parts - so with less disk activity, the unit should remain cooler. You just have to play a DVD and see how hot the unit gets! Regarding the SD card - I have a 32GB SD HC in there and haven't managed to fill half this yet. I haven't tried anything bigger, but don't see an issue...
