I think it's fair enough the price should rise since it's been frozen for 15 years! Few garages would have a labour rate as low as £45 / hour (which is how long the MOT test should take).

Having a clear out and found this. Takes me back.

Radios as extras, head rests, all sorts.

Notably, rear seat belts were an accessory back then - front belts had to be fitted to new cars from 1967/8 ish, it was 1987 before they had to be fitted in the rear.

I have come to the conclusion private dentists must be one of the highest chargers in the UK, more than solicitors possibly. Our dentist went private last year and we had little choice but to stay with them being no NHS ones left. Last week I had 2 fillings, a clean and check up so nothing special and the total cost was about £470 for 1 hours...

I am concerned that the weather may be becoming more severe then the various weather forecasters are letting on. On the M1 this morning (between Newport Pagnell and Long Eaton) I spotted seven (yes, SEVEN) snowploughs heading south. Why is this relevant here? Because all seven were bran new, and were 75 reg!

How many AA Boxes are left in the Country?

Well there are 19, eight of which are grade II listed include this particularly nice one 746, which I reversed back to, got out of the car and took a photo of on our holidays!

Could there be any near you? Do you have a picture in your holiday snaps of an AA box...or is it just me? :)

In April I took delivery of a C4 Hybrid 136 bhp, I'm just back from France where I noticed them being advertised as 145 bhp. So soon, I thought, wonder what they have changed. Maybe I should have waited.

The answer is - nothing. Stellantis used to quote the petrol engione output only, other manufacturers quoted petrol+electric combined at maximum...

Our Octavia beeps if you are 4 mph above what it thinks is the speed limit based on the sat nav or road signs it sees. It often thinks there is a 20 mph limit in 30 mph ones so its maps which I think are up to date are not accurate.

My neighbour, 80 year old is getting fussed about oil changes.
He has a ten year old Honda serviced religiously to schedule at the main dealer, it's done just 19k miles from new.
He asked me yesterday if he should get the oil and filter changed, he's done just 900 miles since the last time.
I told him to save his money but he's worried the oil...

Sadly true, I always check a car after a service or other work, should not need to but often there is the odd thing that is not quite right. Possibly due to rushing to do the work or just can not be bothered.
