Dispatch/Jumpy van II plate 2007 glow plug fuse location

Unread post by nimi62 »

Hi all.
I tried to find a hint, where glow plug Fuse has hidden. Haynes said that its "Maxi fuse unit 1", "Preheating control unit" and valued 100 Amps, OEM name MF5. I measured from relay, and all plugs are fine, but relay socket seems not getting voltage - no clicks. Picked relay away and tested it outside and it didi clock so assume its Ok.

Found this https://fusesdiagram.com/citroen/fuse-b ... ompartment. section there "Fuse box No. 1 in engine compartment."

And there its marked as FL5

On the engine compartment left corner ( view from van's rear to front ) there a metal book looking like ECU -box as its whole metal so didn't open that.

Other box in engine space is that "Fuse box No. 2 in engine compartment (type 1)" and its located onto right corner not containing that 100A fuse.

So can one help to determine that ?

Rarely the fuse - it will likely be the glow plug control relay control box or the plugs themselves if they are not working. You should have a fault code. I'll need your VIN to see what system you have. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Hi Marc and thanks !!

That's VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I did check that the power don't go to relay connector.

Are you sure its not a bad earth, the relay gets its earth from the wiring harness bolt on the back of the engine.

Sure need to check that tomorrow. Anyway, want to know exactly, where the Fuse is as there should be nothing else between battery and relay because that high expected current.

So in case it's the control box:

(3) Glow Plug Pre-Heating Unit, part: 9645668680, £102.64

As for the Injection Diagram, this should be it:

With the exception of the wiring codes, most of the component codes are indexed here:

PSA Electrical Diagrams - Wiring & Symbols Codes Index

To start you off:

Hardware
1158: Pre-Postheating control unit

Wire
The diagram shows Pin 4 (B01A) is the Battery Positive that is supplied by Maxi Fuse 7 - But... as in true PSA style, this doesn't look correct and is common with commercial vehicles that frequently have different body types and therefore the diagrams can be different. In this case Maxi Fuse 7 isn't there.

Having looked independently, I can see that there is a Maxi Fuse 7 that is 100A, but it's in the MFAV (Front Fuse Matrix) and looks like this:

Hi Marc and thanks.

Still looked through and not able to locate that 100Amps fuse.
Looking from front of the car, right corner contains ECU
ecu.jpg
And the left corner contains fuse-box, but not having any that size of fuses
front-fuse-box.jpg
This box looks pretty same as "Fuses under the Bonnet" in thread viewtopic.php?t=70361
or that "Fuse box No. 2 in engine compartment (type 1)." in https://fusesdiagram.com/citroen/fuse-b ... (type%201).

But on side of that, can't be seen those MAXI fuses, but none of that are marked like that Preheating fuse, 100Amps

So still wondering where are those MAXI fuses locacted ?

Measured from the wiring-hardness of pre.heating unit and thats no earth-problem. Minus-pin was clearly in ground and Plus-pin is floating in some noise, which means no connection.
