Not really, if the rear window is wet or steamed up you might see that the heater element has come on. If you're mostly doing fast A roads, then it may be managing with passive regen, of which there will be no sign!

I don't know if this works on a K9, but there is a way on the B9, https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-19837.html

I soldered in a LED behind the drivers side mirror on my last car, connect to the 2 heater wires and attach to the rear of the glass with some glue so that you can see it in the gap between glass and housing..
Planning on doing it to my latest one when I get time

Just done it this morn, 30 mins start to finish.
Tilt glass in and up and use fingers or plastic pry tool to pop out glass, The heater wires are the white plug, the one with the stripe is positive but check with a meter or LED, LED will only work the right way, run engine and turn mirror heaters on to identify which one if needed. Mark the positive one on the plug
I used a terminal tool to remove the 2 spade connectors from the white plug, You can bare the wires if you didn't want to do that. You can run the car again to test before going any further. I then measured the LED Diameter and drilled a hole to poke it through so it will be visible when glass back in housing, secure it with silicon or glue gun, I also secured the extra length of wire with a blob from the glue gun. Pop the glass back in and that's it done. When car having a regen red light will come on, also when heated mirrors on.. Hope this all makes sense.

Just be advised that the engine ECU employs different strategies and levels of assisted regeneration depending on the circumstances of the vehicle, and driving conditions, so may not actually switch on the power consuming devices unless needed.

Look at my post

viewtopic.php?t=82188

is working perfectly on hdi engines with adblue. In my case (1.5HDI) going on short distances DPF is regenerating every 150 miles, on longer motorway drive 200 - 220 miles

The Adblue is irrelevant though as it won't have anything to do with regeneration of the particle filter

I was just stating the way these work - so the engine management system decides if and when power consumers need to be switched on - it may just use post-injection or natural regeneration, so not a 100% guarantee this will work in all cases, all the time. 👍

4got to mention, mainly my coolant system fans get used during a regen so far thats all ive noticed , so i may try this led trick my self , even if it becomes an idicator for the heated mirrors , and i do think this led idea is pretty smart.

I also installed Led, but I thought that it was easier and better to install it and to see it from the inside of the door. Now it is visible to me even when the sun is bright.
