Android auto
Hey.
New to this.
I have a 2017 citroen dispatch with mirrorlink display.
I got a new samsung a15 phone with built in android auto. It connects with the system but take about 4 minutes to load and each command can take about 4 minutes to complete.
Spotify will play as soon as the usb cable is plugged in but the screen is black for minutes .
My old Samsung worked OK with mirrorlink and auto android.
I have splashed out on the best data cable, no change.
My new phone works well in my daughters 2017 golf.
I checked with citroen about upgrades for the display but I'm not due any.
My pals brand new iPhone connected immediately with the USB cable and worked well.
Is my new phone incompatible with my van?
I tried disabling android auto on phone and going with autozen but the system doesn't recognize it.
Any suggestions
Cheers

Re: Android auto
I can't see that this phone is listed currently, but I can't see any reason why not.
Have you tried removing old phones / connections from your Head Unit, as these all take up resources to maintain.
Make sure on your new phone you have given all the permissions (security / Privacy) to ensure it can be discovered and allowed to access your data.

Hi. I double checked permissions and deleted 3 old phones from the head unit.
No change I'm afraid

Re: Android auto
Ok, so the system is offering an update which it normally wouldn't if it has been downloaded previously. You'll have to check the firmware of your head unit by going into the settings and looking for the system info which should give you a lot of info.
This is the last available firmware update for the RCC system:
RCC version: 1_076_16.1B116.4
Licence File
Instructions for Updating NAC or RCC Firmware, Maps & Licences
If you have the same version as the one I listed, then don't bother installing it, otherwise if it's earlier than the one above it may update the system to account for some later phones and fix some other issues.

Re: Android auto
Ok, so you are 3 versions of firmware behind! Your current version was released 21/04/2017
There was a version released 24/11/2017, then in 03/12/2017 and the one I linked to in my last post released 26/06/2019, which appears to be the last one they will release for this system.
It will update the HMI to 21.616.53.17.02 and
the iMX to x0101189_190624_16.1B116.4
So if you want to update the unit, read the last link that has the instructions in. It's very important that you format the USB drive in FAT32, leave the engine running and have 40 minutes at least to allow the update, and don't fiddle with any controls whilst doing the update. Instructions show you what to put and where - especially with regard to the licence file.

I also have issues with Android Auto not working. I have a 2017 Citroen Jumpy (same as Dispatch I believe?). I checked the SW version and I also have an old version from 2017, any chance you could check for an update for my VIN as well? The VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. I'm in Sweden BTW if the region matters.
Thanks!

Re: Android auto
What version do you have already? The latest version is 1_076_16.1B116.4 for RCC.
Also, if Android Auto is not working, then it may not have been enabled by the dealer. Some early RCC systems didn't have it, so you'll need to check with the dealer to see if this is the case.

V850 version: W2.1_16.1S712
And I believe Android Auto should be enabled as I have the menu for both MirrorLink and Android Auto, but get an error saying that I should connect a compatible unit through USB when I try to click on it. I have tried multiple different cables as well as a couple of different phones which is why I believe that it's a software issue. I've used my phone with Android Auto in other cars.

Re: Android auto
I didn't realize I could just download the latest update myself through the Citroen Update application. I'll give that a go and see if the update helps.

Re: Android auto
Same issue here, but with a Peugeot 208 (17 plate) - its a Samsung a15 again...
Have done a head unit update as supplied by Peugeot (and followed all the help on this thread) but getting the same issue, only mine refreshes every 2 minutes not 4!
Does anyone know if any of the fixes worked?
