206 Radiator

Unread post by myglaren »

That's a lotta money for a radiator.
Last one I bought was for a Honda Accord and was 67 quid.

I sometimes wonder if manufacturer's parts pricing is partially aimed at getting people to scrap older cars and hence make room in the market for new sales. Obviously the after market parts suppliers are in a different sector which helps us poor commoners keep the older vehicles on the road!! :)

Judging by that price I would assume it is 3m x 5m, made from platinum and lined with gold!! :-D

The dpf pipe somehow came off its fixture and did the damage so today modified the pipe work with much better clearance .

Trouble is rad leaks like a tap , ive taken measurments of my fitting area and ive got as follows

Rad measure 206cc

470 heigh
340 mm width between pegs ,390mm on cowling¹ possible 400mm... these are rough but almost true. If theres any diagram with measurements that would be helpful

Is it not possible to remove the rad, take it to a radiator specialist and have a new core inserted? :)

Im seeing different rads , would you have dimensions at all for the size needed, im trying to source an after market type.

Unfortunately not. PSA have not provided dimensions anywhere for the rad. Either part number would be the correct one - and as there are no other variants (like say in the case of an alternator where there can be 20+ in some cases), they would have no need to publish the sizes. So you'll have to use the measurements from the existing one to cross reference it with.

This is invariably the issue with aftermarket parts - they may have different dimensions so can be trial and error - but reduce the incompatibility by ensuring you search on 1330N2 and look to find ones in the search that have similar dimensions to each other. If it goes toes up and doesn't fit, at least you have good reason to send it back.

Husky i do not know your exact location but if you google car radiator repairs in your area i think you will find a few old school firms that will be able to help.
Pretty sure that even in this high tech age that a phone call could actually provide a collection/delivery service :)
