C3 2017, Display screen issue

Unread post by Gazzalene »

Several times now my wifes C3 display screen as acted weird. it goes unreadable and freezes.Nothing will clear the screen unless the ignition is turned off, then it goes off after apx 5-10 seconds. on restarting the display is back to normal.
Any ideas of the cause,is this a sign its on its way out? or known issue?

Hi

When you say the screen goes unreadable, what exactly is displayed? Garbled text, blank, lines? This could be important.

I assume this is the large touchscreen in the middle of the dash. If so, it really needs a diagnostic to determine the issue. It may be the screen or the main unit inside the dash.

These units are not cheap - about £800 for the screen alone and another £920 for the telematic unit in the dash, so best to be sure what the problem is. There are a whole range of different units and screens, depending on options fitted tot he car, so it is essential that the correct one is fitted if a replacement is needed.

Depending on whether you've had it serviced by Citroen from new and the current mileage - they may make a goodwill gesture - but I can't say for sure.
