Citroen C5 X7 2012 tourer RHH engine wiring help needed, I had the intake manifold off and in my haste i didnt mark the solenoids that are mounted on the back of it. There are 3 solenoids on the back of the intake manifold but I dont know which order to plug them in as the plugs are all the same... I have four plugs and three solenoids. I dont recall which one was redundant.
Have searched high and low and cant find the info I need and I dont want to do trial and error!!
One is for the turbo, one is for the EGR and one is for the anti-shudder valve.
The plugs have the following wire colours going to them:
Yellow / Pink
Yellow / Pink
Grey / Green(Yellow) - this one has thicker wires than the rest.
Red/Brown - this is on a separate bit of the loom.
If anyone can shed some light on the situation i would be eternally grateful and more than happy to make a donation! And yes I will be clearly marking stuff like this when i take it apart in future!
Thanks, Douglas

Re: Citroen C5 X7 tourer RHH engine wiring help needed
Hi, and to the forum.
Something that would DEFINITELY help is if you can see if there is any numbering on the wires. Citroen are known not to follow consistent wire colours, but they DO follow a consistent wiring CODE system.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 tourer RHH engine wiring help needed
Hi Douglas
The wiring colours are non-descript in this case. What you need to do is pull the sleeve down and provide me with the wiring numbers. For example:
The EGR Solenoid connector wires will be marked: 1472 for the wire going to Pin 2 and BCM2E going to Pin 1.
The turbocharged air heater electrovalve 1 should have wire 14A7 to pin 2 and BCM2B to Pin 1
The Bypasss Solenoid will be 14B3 to Pin 2 and BCM2A to pin 1
These may or may not be the ones - just examples, so I'll be able to tell you which ones are which once you provide the wiring codes.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 tourer RHH engine wiring help needed
Hello and thanks for the prompt and concise response, I did not know about the wiring codes. I have stripped the wires back as much as i can, cant find all the numbers but these are the ones i have:
1. Yellow / Pink............2212 - BCM2E / 2262 - 1472
2. Yellow / Pink............2235 - 1271 / 26C4 - BCM3F
3. Grey / Green(Y)........2526 - BCM1A / 259? - ????
4. Red / Brown.............2262 - 14A7 / ???? - BCM2B
So it looks like that the EGR is no.1. The turbocharged air heater electrovalve 1 is no.4? Is that the solenoid that controls the turbo actuator?? There are only three solenoids on the engine that I can see, all in a row on the back of the intake manifold.
Thanks so much for the help the cars been stranded for nearly six months now because of my error!!
Muchly appreciated

Re: Citroen C5 X7 tourer RHH engine wiring help needed
What can sometimes happen is that there are 'spare' connectors on a wiring loom to allow for optional extras. Marc has helped you to sort out two of your connectors, you may be able to sort out the third solenoid connector. The fourth may have a purpose on your vehicle, but it is possible that it may not.
It is more cost effective for manufacturers to have a few wiring looms for multiple models in a specific range than a specific loom per model. For example, on my previous C5 there was the wiring for an auto-dimming rear view mirror, but it came with a standard mirror. The auto dimming mirror was certainly an optional extra, as I was able to get the correct one from a scrap yard and fit it (no configuration was required).

Re: Citroen C5 X7 tourer RHH engine wiring help needed
Ok, I should of asked for this before, but as there were several variants - can you pop up your VIN for me?(automasked on posting) as some of those combos are not the same. I can then pull off the correct diagram for you and then I'll pop that up.funky_mukka wrote: ↑31 Jan 2021, 17:02 Hello and thanks for the prompt and concise response, I did not know about the wiring codes. Thankyou, that would be a godsend. VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Yes one of them has to be spare there's nowhere else for it to go!

Re: Citroen C5 X7 tourer RHH engine wiring help needed
Ok, so here is the main Injection Wiring Diagram specifically for your vehicle and beneath that, the location diagram. Have a look closely at Section 'F' of the location diagram that shows where the components are located at the back of the engine.
Injection Wiring
Component Location
Here are some of the main components:
13B2: solenoid valve BY PASS RAS
1361: turbocharged air heater electrovalve 1
1229: variable geometry turbo regulator electrovalve
1253: all or nothing solenoid valve (EGR)
But if you need more, then most of these are on our Wiki - they are in alphanumeric order in several sections:
