C6 2.7 HDI filter numbers

Post by cornesoutafrica »

Hi everyone

I need some assistance.

I am looking for the Bosch part number for the oil filter for the 2.7 HDI engine, aswell as the Diesel filter part number. Will Bosch even make it? Another question. As this 2.7 engine is a joint venture with Ford/Land Rover, can I get the filters from Landrover dealerships too?

Kind regards
Corne

Hi Corne

1109AW is for the Oil Filter
1906E5 is the diesel fuel filter.

Both available still from Citroen or Peugeot.

Hi Marc

Thanks.
To be honest, I am looking to import a C6 2.7HDI and we never had them, so for the most part my local dealers won't be able to assist with this specific engine filters, I will be left at my own for getting it and importing it. I am only thinking of where I can turn to in a pinch.

Regards
Corne

You should be able to get these easy enough. Now you have the part numbers you can search in these to find equivalent or genuine OEM ones.

Be advised though that the C6 V6 models have a completely different suspension setup on the V6 models utilising AMVAR. You probably know this, but there can be issues when the AMVAR actuators on each strut fail leading to a hard ride. You’ll also have a separate suspension ECU, and height correctors in each wheel instead of in the axles.

But I guess you’ve already done your research!

Hi Marc

Thanks so much for the part numbers.
I wasn't completely aware of it but even more fun! labour for replacement is my own so it is cheap. Do you have to replace the complete strut then or only the Sensor?

I believe the active damping actuators are fixed near the top of the struts. They have electronic cables attached to control the actuators that provide the variable damping, by opening and closing the orifice that allows the fluid to travel back and forward. So these are part of the struts. The AMVAR system was only available on the V6 models - on lower spec. versions it uses the same system as the C5 X7 (to put it correctly, the X7 gets its's system from the C6).

Wow

That is quite a setup. I now understand why some bushes wear out.... Well. Let's see how it goes, I have someone checking out the car today.

Please hold thumbs.

Yes, also there are no leak back pipes on the gaiters front or rear on this setup. The fluid is returned (using the rear as an example) through a pipe from the rear stiffness regulator hydraulic block (that has the rear centre spheres on) back to the reservoir.

None of the struts are repairable on these systems unlike the MK I and MK II C5s. They are rubber bonded to metal. So if there is ever a leak, it is a new strut. So no separate gaiters, seals or other components. That’s the downside to this system, plug and play, throw away!

Oh well More fun. Let's hope this one is fine...

If it needs the parts, then I will replace it. As I understand, the display for your speed and revs tend to go black. Apparently it can be repaired?

The dashboards have been known to fail and are mega expensive to replace.

There are some fixes - have a look here on C6 owners - there is a thread on this and a few links to the issues:

Thanks Marc.

I will look into it. Always good to have the contacts ready.

The car I am looking at doesn't have a plate that covers the engine sump, only underneath the radiator, is that normal? Also I attach a picture of the front top plastic cover of the radiator, notice the left part, there is a crack in the plastic, do you have to replace the complete bumper for that? or is it a separate piece?

I can’t see any cracks in the photo Corne...

Perhaps you can circle the area you are concerned about?

Do you have the VIN of the vehicle?

I think I can see the crack. Zoom in, and look at the lower central plastic piece. There appears to be a crack that goes 'over' the securing bolt, and end near to the label.

Hi Marc

Yes, exactly that spot, so atleast I can get it separately, now have to get a supplier and import it, aswell as the belly plate which is exactly what I need. Shame I can't get it fitted on the car before having it shipped, would be cheaper...

I have the VIN number of this C6 VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] Can you track any history on this car possibly?

Thanks so much for your help
