Front/Rear Hydractive spheres the same?

Post by Diabolical »

I called Europarts today for replacement Spheres, they can find all on their system other than Front Hydractive - so question is are they the same and I order 2 rear ones?

Also I replaced regulator sphere on my CX Safari with XM Front Hydractive as it has larger capacity 50cl and pressure 70, are they the same on Xantia?

They're definitely not the same, GSF stock the hydractive front corners:

Or do you mean the front centre sphere? Either way they aren't the same.

I mean Front Hydractive bottom left hand side by the horn.

They're different. They're both essentially accumulators but front/rear vastly differing pressures. The front is also a bigger volume as well.

The front is 70bar 500cc whereas the rear is 50bar 400cc..

Here's the full list for a hydractive car..

Thanks Jim

Have now ordered all that's needed. Already had 4 corner spheres for non_hydractive, I fancy a soft/damper ride.

I'm surprised only 50 BAR is on Accumulator sphere.

Front Hydractive is the same as XM it seems.

That accumulator (SC/MAC) is the anti-sink accumulator, not the front one attached to the engine, be careful when you unscrew an anti-sink sphere as there is the serious risk of twisting the hydraulic supply pipe off, make sure you loosen the union then hold a spanner on the union as you undo the sphere.

Aha, this is the confusion the Guy at Europarts and I had, he said: we have no Anti Sink so I said: don't bother with that I shall just have main Accumulator.

Thank you for pointing that Out Dickie, could have made a bit of a cock up
