Sorry to hear about the ribs Skull, having compound broken seven all in one go several years ago I feel your pain

Here's hoping you soon heal [-o<
RichardW wrote: 11 Oct 2023, 17:12 I recall Jim saying that the carpet can soak up an amazing amount of LHM, but it turns the underneath to mush.
Gosh yes, it can melt all the sound-deadening panel stuck to the footwell under the carpet backing foam. The carpet and foam itself survives well and can be washed out with good, strong detergent and dried but you'll find the carpet will retain a fetching green tinge for the rest of time! As your car is green anyway, that will not be a problem!

The sound deadening mush will need to be scraped away, cleaned up with solvent and a new bit glued in... It's a horrid, dirty job...

That one is almost impossible to remove, that (and the heater matrix) were the first bits of the car to be assembled and the rest was built around it...

Just clean it up as best you can with lots of absorbent paper and some solvent you know won't attack it...

I thought Xantias were built around their radiator fans - seems like it when you need to replace them!

I guess you've not yet done a heater matrix Alec ;) Radiator fans seem easy in comparison
