And memories of the quartic steering wheel.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

I think one off the comments to the video said this is what happens when people get bored and have nothing else to do , myself ,i thought they had come up with a 4 tray cup holder .

That comment needs to be wrapped around a bit of context

Re: Peugeot 2008. The new chapter
So the new front discs arrived fast 22 hrs post not bad at all they are fitted and the difference clearly came with the brake fluid reseveroiur needing a bit taken out to drop the level back to the normal mark, as you know winding the pistons back causes the fluid to rise then this proves who ever had the car before was topping up the fluids but not taking notice of why it was needed .

When winding pistons in I usually let the fluid out of the bleed screws to help avoid dirty fluid being pushed back.

Re: Peugeot 2008. The new chapter
I think I first came across it when we had an Astra having read somewhere that pushing the pistons in could reverse the seals in the master cylinder.

Re: Peugeot 2008. The new chapter
An adaptation of your method Paul, I have a very short tube terminating in a one way valve which I connect over the bleed nipple to ensure I don't suck any air in when pushing back the pistons. I collect the expelled fluid from each wheel in a jar for inspection afterwards!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Peugeot 2008. The new chapter
Just trying to reason if out in my head... I can't work out how the seals would be reversed - the positive pressure (coming back up) would be same side of the seal as the positive pressure generated when pushing down on the pedal - wouldn't it?
Not disputing the advice, just trying to understand what'd be going on in the master cylinder.
If it's a "new to me" car, first interaction with the brakes, I'd tend to push pistons all the way in, changed pads and then bleed through new fluid (actually, thinking about it, possibly sucking out the contents of reservoir first, then refilled with fresh fluid)
But if I was doing that I'd probably try and source new bleed nipples to swap them too.
Later I'd wonder why "a quick pad swap" had taken all day!
I've mostly come across grimy black brake fluid and very crusty bleed nipples though, signs of recent maintenance= not so much!
