Yeh, you can't see it but it has a corner misssing that I used on the C5.
Well worth adding the extra layer on the inside by clamping it in place, then staple from the other side and bend ends over to hold the tarp. A coat of glue will strengthen it even more!!

Cambelt will be a piece of cake for you with small hands, Jim! You might need some more heft to get the crank bolt out - but they are not that tight. Supposed to be replaced - decent kits come with a new bolt. No real gotchas on these, unlike the 2.0 HDi with the hidden, different sized, bolt down the back!! It's a bit tricky to rotate the crank and wiggle the locking pin (for holding the crank for bolt undoing / tightening only) in over the exhaust single handedly... I've never managed to get the belt back on over the tensioner, but it's easy enough to fit the belt first, then bolt on the tensioner afterwards.

On my first C5 I had them splitting and no hot staples back then. I actually 'Wallpapered' the inside of the liners with good old blue tarpaulin and spray on upholstery glue, Copydex I believe I used. Repaired and reinforced at the same time!

That's a good thought Mick... I absolutely hate the smell of Copydex. Makes me feel sick

Fibre glassed a wheel arch liner when I was in my 20s that was fun , messy , but fun . Rubbed down primed and sprayed black. My mates poked fun at me saying it was the newest thing on the car a waste of time because no one sees it . I knew it was there . I was very proud of the whole thing .

I'm busy installing a new cooker for the youngsters today Mick, the long weekend is fully booked and really, there's absolutely no rush and whilst the bathroom is being rebuilt there's no space around here due to big white vans being present!

Yesterday, they completed the plastering, got most of the new floor down and are all good to crack on next week. With any luck I should have a nice new functional bathroom by the weekend and then I'll not need to visit friends and family for a shower

Yes, we've got one too, it's great. I find that as the hob doesn't really get hot (only by conducted heat back down from contact with the pan) that the glass top is easy to keep clean. Most spillages just wipe off and an occasional (maybe yearly? Not often at all) a quick run over with a scraper blade takes anything more stubborn off.

Congrats on the proper spelling, I imagine in the phrase "full to the ......." the spelling has morphed in common usage, to be more like the surname of Sally, the 400 metre Hurdles Gold medal winner at at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, although she does use a double ll at the end!

Indeed, Neil, it has indeed morphed, as has several other words in current use... A common occurrence now is the spelling of the device your foot is in contact with when driving or cycling. Peddle is rapidly becoming the accepted alterative spelling of pedal.

As ever was. Despatch and dispatch are interchangeable. Here's a question: what's the correct spelling of the device that holds and retains brake pads on a disc brake setup?

I've been away for a couple of days due to the enormous generosity of my eldest granddaughter. She gave me a very virulent tummy bug and not only to me but to her mum and dad too. Only her little sister escaped unscathed!

It was an evil little violent bug but happily, a short-lived one. It caused me to loose over 2Kg of body weight and when you're as light as I am, that's a lot. Even my smart scales expressed surprise A heck of a way to diet...

My level of body fat only reduced by 0.5% and now sits at 18%...
