Angle grinder plus old flywheel bolts = chase out the thread locking compound.

I’ve always been told that it’s a ‘90’, so that’s what I’m sticking with until I know differently.
Easy to tell - 90 only has 1 air pipe over the engine, 110 has 2 (due to the intercooler).
Does the VIN also indicate what engine is in the car?

If it does, as I believe it should, then what I've been told about the engine in my 406s so far is incorrect. The VIN for both of them have 'RHZ' in the VIN - 109 HP. Okay, everyone calls it the 110 HP engine.

Who would have thought!
Cheers,
Andrew

Yes, certainly confirms what was originally in there

"Commander Lumley Robinson" (so says Wikipedia below) apparently invented and named them Jubilee clips but it's since become generic. Also Biro, Hoover, Velcro and lots of others that'll come to mind when I'm a bit more awake :)

Amazingly actual genuine jubilees are still sold. Quite like when the original is still knocking about more than 100 years after first devised

Handy...! On your foray into UK / European terms, it's 109 BHP (Brake Horse Power) but the figures are usually quoted in PS which is a German measure ( PS stands for Pferdestärke, a German word that translates to "horse strength". It is the metric measurement for engine power, commonly used by European car and motorcycle makers. One PS equals roughly 0.9863 of a standard mechanical horsepower (bhp/hp), meaning the values are almost the same.) But they are also often quoted in brackets in kW....

Thread hijack, Matt, Sorry!

Weather seriously getting on my nerves at present flip a coin every 15 minutes and flick between:
Proper cloud burst downpour
And
Hot sunshine baking down.

New flywheel on.

IMG_20260819_104424407.jpg
A deep socket a good fit in the flywheel spigot hole is a MASSIVE help as trying to precisely align the flywheel (8 bolt holes but also a dowel pin too. Which is a stopped hole in the flywheel and hence not visible from the front!) quickly becomes an arm aching patience test. Thusly:

Thank you! :)

Nipped inside to grab the (previous generation) torque settings for flywheel bolts. T50 torx, from the Haynes:
Stage 1 is 25 Nm
Stage 2 is fully loosen
Stage 3 is 8 Nm (can't see the overcoming the loctite personally! Will need to break out the 1/4" inch drive torque wrench as my 3/8" drive just not go below 20 Nm!)
Stage 4 is 30 Nm
Stage 5 angle tighten 90 degrees
Stage 6 is drop torque wrench and try to reconnect arms back into sockets :-D

I'm looking forward to that bit!

8Nm is 71 inch-pounds (as that's what my little cheap 1/4" drive torque wrench uses)

All together: Ahhhhh it's nowt but a baby!
