Hi
I know there have been other posts about this but have reached my wits end with the non-functioning heater blower. It is a '02 xsara picasso, with climate control.
The blower stopped working all together. I have replaced the blower motor (which is the 2 plug version with built in resistor) and the wiring from the ignition. There is power getting to the motor but it still doesn't work.
Is there anything else in the circuit that would stop it from working - all I can think of now is the control panel on the central dash.
Please help !!!

Re: 2002 PICASSO HEATER BLOWER PROBLEMS
The control system supplies a voltage that operates the regulator in the motor, if that voltage is missing the motor won't run - if its that same motor as the XM that is. If you have a plug with one thin wire, try connecting it to earth, that should sting the motor into action.
You can connect a meter to the thin wire and check the voltage when you vary the fan speed control, it should read about zero to three volts.

Early Picasso's suffer with ignition switch failure, there is a red spur wire, that plugs into the bsi with a black connector. Check that this is live.

Re: 2002 PICASSO HEATER BLOWER PROBLEMS
Hi My Blower was working ok , and next time I started the car the blower was dead.
I think I have checked all the fuses, but not 100% sure.
Would anyone have a wiring circuit diagram for the Blower System , on my 2007 Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6 Petrol, VIN Number VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Kind regards, Tony

Re: 2002 PICASSO HEATER BLOWER PROBLEMS
When the cabin blower stopped working on our Cactus it was the resistor pack that had failed. It stopped when driving which may not be relevant.
I think on the Xsara Picasso the cabin filter has to be replaced regularly or it can lead to the ignition switch burning out, something else for you to check. An example topic which includes a wiring diagram viewtopic.php?t=62761

PaulC5,
Many thanks for your quick reply. and your tips
In my searching, I did not come across that post you have given me the link to.
I think this will give me the diagrams and information I require.
Again , The members of this Forum have come up trumps.
Kind Regards ,
Tony

Re: 2002 PICASSO HEATER BLOWER PROBLEMS
update on my Blower not working issue on my xsara picasso 2007 .
It turned out to be a faulty BSI unit , i.e It is the fuse box unit under the bonnet at the top ight and side. Mine had a faint greenish corrosion signs under one of the plugin sockets.
I purchased a replacement from my local breaker yard .
the blower operated as soon as i fitted the BSI unit.
hope this helps others.
Kind regards.

Well done, the BSI can be responsible for numerous weird faults.
