2026 (modded?) maps

Unread post by SterkeYerke »

Hi everyone, I just came across this website:
https://maps.gpsmyway.com/en/map-update ... g-smegiv2/
It claims to have 2026 maps for the RT6 and SMEG units, but sadly I can't download them because you need a premium account on 01files.me. Does anyone know if these maps are legit? And if so, are they available anywhere else? The other map updates on that website seem to be the more well-known modded maps for the RNEG and NG4 units, which afaik have been proven to work.

This was mentioned a week or so ago but no-one's sprung the money to find out. I've searched around and not found anything.

Sadly I don't have a car with a compatible satnav system around anymore to try these. Otherwise I might've tried. However, I haven't given up yet on getting RT6 maps to work on the RT5 in my 607, so I might try them at some point (though I'll probably test the 2023 maps first).

Modified BMW maps are available for RNEG systems. Is that not the same? I will send you a PM about this.

Please let us know how this goes.

They're completely different. The RNEG was made by Harman Becker (which is why BMW maps work, just like on the NG4) while the RT6 was made by Magneti Marelli. As far as I can tell, they don't share anything except the way they look.

Of course they are. Just having a little senior moment there. Glad you caught my, err, deliberate mistake.

So I was summoned. How do the RNEG and NG4 work on SMEG ?
Looking at file types and file structure it's quite different. I don't know how to convert. What pm @Paul ?

But do you mean you're able to get the files ?

They don't work. As I've repeatedly said, RNEG and NG4 are from a different manufacturer.

RT6 and RT5 may be from the same company but I believe RT6 is a development of the earlier system.

Those 2026 RT6 maps may well work but no-one has posted about it.
