LHM+ Leak fixed (octopus leg return from front height corrector trimmed and re-joined with 3.5mm x 7.5mm - originally 9.5mm)
Dip stick bodged

A bit more smoke when engine warmed up

Fans operating around 97℃

Just waiting for the ABS rings to arrive, once fitted I can get the driveshaft back in, gearbox oil, then lower her down to earth and shuffle her around the driveway to try and let the sun clean up the blocks on the driveway

I haven't done a Compression test yet but after a bit of Citrobics and a top up of LHM+ a missing Exhaust cup washer pinged onto the floor (from height corrector cradle :?: )

Sounds OK to my untrained DIY ear [-o<
Still missing:
1x Exhaust manifold nut 13mm
1x Exhaust joint nut from Cat pipe 10mm
1x Glow Plug nut 7mm

Well today was it’s proper road test after doing both front ABS reluctor rings and re-filling the gearbox with oil…..

It’s still smoking like anything, it starts easily, sounds smooth even when revving and feels like it’s got the power it should have BUT still smoking HEAVILY
(to a dangerous visibility level).

I’m going to do another compression test and then try listing it on eBay before the insurance runs out on the 18th June …I’ll drive it into the scrap yard :-({|=

SHOUT if you want anything…

Black, blue or white smoke Gary? :) Might I suggest a diesel cleaner through the system before you send it to the car park in the sky, have a look through the options here: https://low-offset.com/workshop/best-turbo-cleaner/

Little bit of blue then lots of white :sprint: :sprint:

New cylinder head gasket (twice) but still smoking ...
Poor dash cam quality made worse as it wont connect to my laptop so recorded it on my phone (driver problem) sometimes everything is fighting me

White is unburnt fuel so perhaps the fuel system needs checking over as it may be overfuelling? :)

Might be worth doing a leakoff test to see what the injectors are doing. No special equipment needed apart from some pipe and 4 jam jars.

Only a few laps of the block ... I daren't take it for an 'italian tune-up'

Has a cat fitted but doesn't actually need one ....

I don't think it's failed :dunno:

I'd say over fueling then , if you do a leak off test as someone has already mentioned that might rule it out if its not over fueling, what about timing is the fuel pump to advanced ?
