DS3 Service Light on ECO disactivated
Hi,
I have a problem with my DS3 2012 1.6 HDi. The SERVICE light is on permanently and the screen says "ECO Deactivated. The ECO light is flashing and I cannot manually reactivate it.
I have reset the service indicator and also done a BSI reset but neither of these has helped.
The car seems to drive fine.
Any ideas as to what the problem may be.
Thanks
Mick

You need to get the car read by a decent diagnostic machine (preferably Diagbox) to see what error codes (DTCs) are present.

Re: DS3 Service Light on ECO disactivated
Is this referring to the stop/start system - if so it may be the battery is not fully charged or the ECO stop/start button has been pressed to switch off stop/start.

Re: DS3 Service Light on ECO disactivated
Hi,
Thanks for your responses.
I have just run a global test on Diagbox and come up with the following faults:
P1A9C - Energy Accumulator - State of Health Fault
FD80 - GSM Module Fault
I assume that the P1A9C is the cause of the problem.
I have read on this forum that it probably needs the start/stop capacitor changing.
Anybody know where this is located and a part number for it please.
Thanks
Mick

Re: DS3 Service Light on ECO disactivated
Ever since I have had the car ( since 2015) the stop/start has only worked after a long run. If I do short runs it doesn't work after a day or 2. The battery is good, 12.75V with engine off, and it charges at 14.4V at tickover so I think the alternator is ok.

Re: DS3 Service Light on ECO disactivated
Sometimes the capacitor can be under a front wing. The voltage can be high so special care needs to be taken if going near it. Many people including us are probably not bothered that the stop/start does not work for most of the time and if you did replace the capacitor you may find after a while the stop/start still does not work all the time.

Re: DS3 Service Light on ECO disactivated
Have got myself a replacement capacitor but cannot undo the electrical heavy duty wires from it. A 12mm socket is too small and a 13mm socket is too big. I have tried AF sockets without success and there is no room to fit an adjustable spanner in.
Is there a special tool for the job?
I have looked at the replacement and an 8mm (13mm spanner size) nut will fit on the terminals so I can fit the new one using these
Any ideas please

Have checked all the grounds and there is no problem there but thanks for the suggestion.

A half inch socket might fit, it is between 12 and 13 mm.

Re: DS3 Service Light on ECO disactivated
Have got a friend to make me a tool and I have now changed the capacitor.
Unfortunately this has not fixed the problem.
Anybody got any suggestions as to what the problem could be please
Thanks
Mick

Re: DS3 Service Light on ECO disactivated
Have you checked the 12 volt battery yet ? Also, was the replacement capacitor a new one ?
