Evaporator sensor replacement

Unread post by some1else »

Hi,
could anyone help me locate the evaporator sensor on my 2000 xsara? The part number is 6445HF.
I've looked under the glove box and behind the central console, but I was only able to find 2 interior temperature sensors (654464W).

Thanks in advance!

The best I can find is:

The shape of the connector implies that it clips into the housing somehow, maybe you need to remove the housing to get access?

Thanks! The sensor is now replaced, but Lexia still shows evaporator sensor fault under ECU... Wires are in good condition. Any ideas?

Symptoms are: when heating knob is set even at 18C, and direction set to windshield, then the fan runs at full speed and blows as hot air as possible. When the direction is moved to blow front and feet, then the temperature regulation and fan speed are OK...

That may be normal behaviour?

You might just be right, after all there isn't a separate button for defrosting windshield... Thank you!
