Problem with clock and central locking

Unread post by Garryj001 »

Hi folks,

Thanks for taking time to read my post

I have recently bought a Citroen berlingo van 2014 1.6

The clock resets itself everytime i turn off engine and the central locking only works straight after turning engine off. If i leave it 5 minutes and press the key to unlock nothing happens but if i open manually and run engine for a minute it will lock again.

Been looking and most common advice is battery is to blame but i checked battery and it said it was fine.

Could the battery be faulty but still saying its good?

Thanks for any advice

What voltage are you measuring on the battery ? You must have enough to start the engine, is it turning over normally or slow when trying to start ? Has anyone altered the electrics so the clock is only powered with the engine running ?

does it have an aftermarket radio fitted?

Failing that sounds to me like you have a blown fuse for one of the permanent lives.

Van starts perfectly everytime even after leaving for a day. Not sure if electrics have been altered but dont think so. Its got the standard radio fitted. Do you happen to know which fuses it could be?

I would start by taking a look at these fuses in the BSI behind the glovebox

See viewtopic.php?t=74241 which seems to be a case of the same problem. (Misplaced shunt).

Totally forgot about the shunt, however it will be totally different as the van in the other thread is a Mk1.

This post will be more relevant, Make sure the shunt is in the 'Client' position
