Bit too early, and I think might struggle a bit to handle keeping pace with modern traffic.

Not a Riley.

Who's to say it's not a marque which has already featured on my driveway?

I'd missed the suggestion of an Imp earlier too - that's another one on The List, but not this time. I kinda feel they're another one which has kinda been priced out of the market for me for what they cost Vs how much car you get these days too.

Curve ball suggestion - on the basis Mick said TVR (then Riley RM) then was "had a good thought" which could have applied to either of those.

Hmmm
2.5 litre, British

A Marcos? (Actually were they the 3 litre Essex V6 rather than 2.5?)

Congratulations, you're a winner!

...Or do we make you figure out exactly which year and model too?

Well I'm now FULLY awake. Smoke alarm in here, almost directly above the bed apparently decided to have a seizure, going into full alarm mode for no reason whatsoever in the middle of the night. Both me and the dog who was at the other side of the room had to just peel ourselves off the ceiling as a result.

This WAS the first night of the week where I'd actually managed to get to sleep at a half decent time. So much for that lasting, nothing like a nice 0130 adrenaline shot to help with sleep quality. So putting a quick very short update on Project Pinball while I wait for my nerves to stop vibrating. I have anxiety issues at the best of times, so it's going to take a few mins to settle.

As I've got to the point where I'm going to be starting to put things into the cabinet and doing a few modifications to it, time to make it slightly less unpleasant to work on. Basically get rid of 45 years of cobwebs and grime from in here.

Honestly not all that bad for one of these. A bit of vacuuming later though it was looking far nicer to work on.

The mid box was probably the worst area before.

Back box wasn't bad at all, but is now also now spider free.

Probably the thing I'd like to get started this week is mains power input. The way things will be set up here will be that there will be two power switches. A physical isolator on the back panel which will isolate everything. The actual wall socket this will plug into is buried down behind an armchair so is a real pain to get to, so being able to kill it without having to stand on my head will be nice. The second switch though will be a push button under the front right corner - where the switch normally is on a real table. This will be the power button for the PC inside. Something which will be tied into the 12V feed from that PC will be a contactor which will then turn on the mains to everything else in the cabinet - so once the PC powers up, everything else will then also wake up. Quick, easy way of ensuring we don't have a stupid off-mode power draw without vastly overcomplicating the wiring. Pretty sure I have everything needed for this already on the shelf - assuming the contactor I'm thinking of is a 12V one anyway.

Eventually we're going to have a lot of things needing to be powered on/off.
[] PC.
[] 3X displays.
[] 12V DC supply (fans, lighting, rumble motor, Pinscape controller).
[] 40V DC Supply (Flipper, kicker and pop bumper solenoids).
[] 2X audio amplifiers (table audio, playfield sound effects).
... Probably a bunch of things I've forgotten. You can see just having it automatically physically disconnect all that lot from the mains when the PC shuts down is a good thing.

Plus it makes a lot of sense to my brain to get the framework for that and the bus bars to which everything will need to connect in place BEFORE we start installing a bunch of hardware in the cabinet. Anything that's getting installed is going to need power after all, so let's get the power in first.

Seems a good bit of hardware to get started as it's low hanging fruit. Would also mean I could do away with the extension cable currently needed to test anything. Which I nicked from the garage and keep needing outside.
