2020 C5 Aircross Automatic 1.2L PureTech
Hi all,
Real newbie question here. I recently bought a 2020 C5 Aircross 1.2L Automatic and I just want to know what oil I need to buy for topping up? I tried looking online but get different recommendations, either 0W30 grade or 0W20 grade.
Can someone please confirm what the correct oil specification for the 1.2L petrol engine is and any particular brand which users recommend?
Thanks.

You'll need to pop your VIN up as specifications are engine and engine variant specific. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff. Further, PSA changed the oil specs early this year, so I'll check the current official grade and spec. for you.

Re: 2020 C5 Aircross Automatic 1.2L PureTech
In all cases the oil has been changed to 0W20 for the grade, but please note that the specifications (B71 2010) should also be followed as these have a wet timing belt!
EM: 0W20 B71 2010
0W20 B71 2010 (C5)
The officially recommended oil is therefore:
QUARTZ INEO XTRA FIRST 0W20
EM: 0W20 B71 2010
0W20 B71 2010 (C5)
The officially recommended oil is therefore:
QUARTZ INEO XTRA FIRST 0W20

Thanks @GiveMeABreak, I appreciate it.
So it looks like this is my best option? https://lubricants.catalog.totalenergie ... irst-0w-20
I can see from the service the garage I purchased the car from did just before I purchased it that they changed the wet timing belt (car had 95,000 KM's on it) which is a good thing but they used WOLF OFFICIALTECH
0W30 which may have been the originally specified oil for the car?
Either way, if I'm topping up the oil before my next service should I top up the existing 0W30 oil with 0W20 or should I keep topping up with some 0W30 and then do a full oil change to 0W20 at the next service?

Just change it at your next oil change - do a drain and refill.

Re: 2020 C5 Aircross Automatic 1.2L PureTech
You should have been given a service schedule sheet of paper when the car was new which notes the correct oil but if you do not have this you can get one from a Citroen dealer without charge and even then it is worth while getting an up to date one since oil specs change. They should put the oil type used when serviced on the receipt as well. This topic will also help viewtopic.php?t=75919
For a car still under warranty I would keep having the oil changed by the dealer.

Do not rely on my guide - refer to the introduction - I am no longer updating that document because of the frequent changes to oils specs. If you want to know the current correct grade for your vehicle, post up your VIN and I will be able to provide the official Citroen grade currently used for your exact engine. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.BG18YCE wrote: 31 Jan 2025, 15:14 Hi, Does anyone know the correct oil for a C5 1.2L
