Another reminder that this thread exists from today's POTD....

A bit of pre-planning, or a run out 3.33 miles and an exact retrace of the route. If it was a rough out and back to hit say 6 miles ish, some running up and down your street may have been required to hit exactly 6.66 miles.

To get it exact to a hundreth of a mile ie 17.6 yards some precision in arriving back home would be required. :-D

I like a bit of distance engineering with the odometer and of course this thread is the food and drink for such things. The holy grail would be achieving 123456 on the trip meter and 789.0 on the trip meter, with others like 111111 and 111.1 or even 1111.1 on the trip meter being also suitably satisfying.

There you go Neil, straight out of Strava :D It's in Strava so it definitely happened ;)

I didn't initially consciously plan it but when I reached five miles, and knowing all my running routes around Paggers so intimately, I then thought it might be 'game on' and I succeeded

There was plenty of odd behaviour, involving running through lots of little cut-throughs I know and scaring a few dogs... I was also dressed in bright orange to look as much like a pumpkin as I could :D

Just a little bit earlier (and needs the seconds reported) you could have had 6:06:06 or a bit later at six minutes past seven you could have had a second one (slightly twisting the time reporting to be "66 minutes past 6" : 6:66 :)

That would have been awesome

I'll try harder next year Matt ;)

Some time before 2018 when the "Significant Mileage Photos" thread was created to give a home for such things, back in 2010 one of my Xantias clicked onto the 200,000 mile mark. This post (without a photo) marked the occasion, and also highlighted that, as well as the significant mileage itself, the location in which it occurs can be engineered too.
NewcastleFalcon wrote: 25 Nov 2010, 23:37 Its nice to be able to engineer significant milage milestones with interesting locations, or special trips rather than reach 200,000 miles by driving into the carpark at Tesco's.

I managed to combine the 200,000 mile mark on my ressurected 1.9td Xantia, with a nice drive to North Yorksire for the wartime weekend at Pickering as I have reported in earlier posts.

The fact that the milestone was achieved at Stannington on the A1 was a bit mundane, with no real opportunity for the commemorative photo of the location and the mileometer.

I still haven't rewarded the Xant with a new heater matrix as a celebration, but I have invested in a new demister pad which I operate manually to see where I am going.

:D Never a good idea to have a row with a machine - you'll never win ;)

Seriously, good work!

Too many of my trips are motorway commute with only me in the car,

Recently my blue 308 has passed 138138 and 138383 both whilst I have had no chance of a picture.

Next spot,138831 miles I'd think might be around the Christmas break, so perhaps chance of a spot! :)

Well done on the rowing Mick!

The rowing machine threw up two interesting numbers today:
Running total of distance rowed
Running total of distance rowed
Total number of strokes in my usage
Total number of strokes in my usage

Just struck me that there is a rowing machine in the big cupboard 30' from where I am sitting. Been there at least eight years. Never used in all that time.

That's the ultimate fate of many exercise machines Steve. They're not made to be used. If they do they have a short life - as I found out during my original quest for fitness. I destroyed both an elliptical trainer and a static bike!

It is my eldest daughter's, who gave it to my youngest son while he was living here.
She hasn't room for it, her running machine takes up a lot of space in her small house.

Mine was specified for home fitness use with users being less than 225lbs. I just qualified when I bought it and I am now well within it's limit. All the fitness sights had good reviews as a home machine used properly by a responsible owner and it has certainly served me very well with no signs of deterioration in any way. Anybody wanting a machine for sensible outlay I would recommend it. :-D
