Significant Mileage Photos...

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

km's too of course :-D

Are the simplest threads the best? Hopefully this one is and is easy to join in with. Here it is in a nutshell when your car clicks over to a significant mileage...
Take a photo of your milometer/kilometre-o-meter
Post it up here
Course a little bit of embellishment with time/place etc is always good for comment and chat.

First-time photo posters especially welcome...this link shows how to add a photo from your computer to a post

Here is my effort. You will notice from the milometer and the tripometer that I have gone completely off-topic in this first post. I will have a think but the milage shown there is totally insignificant at first viewing! I am sure you can do better. :-D

PS 191191 will hopefully be the next "pleasing" milage and then 191919. Some trip meter engineering to show 191.9 at that moment would of course be the icing on the cake and in a layby on the A19 would be just perfect!!!

Absolutely top quality Richard......a mathematically-engineered tripometer too....love it! Did it happen at a significant location?

A couple from a few years ago of my old C4 VTS that went on to record over 197000 miles before going to the bridge.

Not really, way home from work, A705 heading into Whitburn.

Had '14' day on the 307 last week, but no pic.

So what's the connection between my apparently insignificant mileage and this rear view of a 1974 Jensen Healey?

Look closely at the web address...

https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/ ... BLE-191054

Could possibly have put that up for a whatsthisthen by scrubbing off the makers name :-D Is that really only $12,100 :?: it sold for. Maybe the vauhall viva suspension depressed the price!
It also has a Rapier H120 4-speed gearbox and Vauxhall Viva suspension (front-independent, double wishbones, coil springs and telescopic dampers/rear-live axle, four links, coil spring and telescopic dampers)

Excellent the "13" shot is veryvery close to being a complete full house. 1/10th of a mile later the trip meter would have been 131.3

and the fuel range...very very close to 131.

13 mph would of course may have had to have been off road on a deserted airfield :-D

Bottom right 111111 :-D took me a while to find it. My brain was trying to pull out significant figures from the display and was probably conditioned to notice the 13 from Fake Concern's post!

Thats pretty remarkable in itself 13 degrees Centigrade two days before Christmas!

Especially since that is 200m above sea level 25 miles SSE of Glasgow, and we had about 6" of snow by the end of the 27th!!

This one courtesy of my friend Chris; OK it was on a Zafira...

There are many classes of significant milages. You may think 60103 or maybe 4472 for example would be totally insignificant mileages. But when you class these as "Flying Scotsman" mileages, you can see...more than worthy of a photo on this thread :-D

This offering from me, is in the "mildly satisfying" category rather than the top-drawer of milometer photos.

It has some symmetry, and the tripometer joins in.

I've got photos of 123456 on the Saab and 200000 on the first Xantia...However they're proving elusive at the moment!

Now today's seemingly insignificant milage but not is......

66739

Check out the number on the loco on this POTD video!

If by some miracle your milometer hits that total in the next few days post it up!
