Happy long weekend.

I want to attempt to replace the BPGA (part no. 9675350380) by myself. Would you be able to check whether my car requires re-programming after replacing BPGA? Cheers.
Oliver
Hi Oliver, sorry I must of missed this post, so haven't been ignoring you. No, there is non programming required for the BGPA unit replacement, just be careful to photograph the position of all the fuses and wires before taking them off, as there is not guide to replacing them, as they can be different for each vehicle depending on fitted equipment.
Hi Marc, dram773,

Thanks for confirming that no programming is required. Also thanks to @dram773 for your useful posts on the bypass. I was a bit sceptical at first but will consider replacement parts on AliExpress for the next fix which I know I won’t need to wait long!

Just posting for the benefit of fellow Peugeot owners. I bought the replacement BPGA (Supplies protection and management unit) from eBay for £191.03 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276434980383) in May 2024 and swapped out the faulty BPGA in early June 2024. I followed the same steps as dram773 in this thread, i.e. battery disconnect procedure then connect to the new replacement BPGA fuses the way it was originally connected to the faulty BPGA. Every problem in my previous post disappeared and 4 months down the line, they haven’t reappeared since. I would say this is definitely a DIY job but just make sure BPGA is the problem before you buy the replacement.

Best,
Oliver

Hello everyone,

I found this thread after hours of google searches on the electical circuit fault error in the main display and the related battery drain due to the BPGA relais not cutting the power.
I'm driving a 508 SW I from 2017, and was wondering whether the BPGA would need reprogramming after it is switched out.
Would a staff member be able to check my VIN number for that as well? Many thanks in advance :P
VIN: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

In case anyone has similar problems, you might find my "journey" helpful:
My 508's battery got completely drained after 1 week of the vehicle sitting in the garage, despite the battery being fairly new and charged.
The electrical circuit fault error message in the display was not always present though, just sometimes.
I realized that sometimes the battery current would be cut completely 4mins after killing the engine and locking the car (cascading current drops about 30-60s apart, then from about 200mA to 0A).
Othertimes it would remain at about 440mA after 2min, and not go any lower. If that happened, the electrical circuit fault error would appear when turning on the ignition.
As such, you have about two times your battery's Ah rating in hours before it goes dead. Probably less if you need the engine to turn over or your battery isn't full 8-)
I was then able to trace the relais that cuts the power to the BPGA module from some forum threads and videos I found, finally leading me here

Hi

The Supplies Protection & Management Unit specifically does not need configuring on this vehicle, but the engine fuse box does.

If you require correct official parts, please see below:

We can help if you need an original genuine part number, part diagram or vehicle factory build sheet and can't already find the info you need on the Forum. For this service, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 3 years, so excellent value.

If interested, links are below, then provide your vehicle's VIN in full, which will be masked automatically when you submit your post.

Hi Marc,

thanks for the quick reply, since I'll only replace the BPGA module I can do it myself then.
I have the parts number and already found a replacement part on ebay that should fit my car, so I should be good.
If the repair goes well I'll post the link and parts numbers that it was sold under.

Remember!: Always take pictures or record / write down the existing connections BEFORE removing anything - these are not standard fit and positions for the fuse cables, so are different according to each individual vehicle and options fitted. We've already had a few that forgot this simple advice and got stuck - we can't assist with this for the reasons explained.
