Abs problems

Hello. I have an citroen berlingo 2012. It has a problems with connecting to the abs module. It has a lot of different fault codes involving connection with the abs/esp ecu and also on vehicle speed. I have tried to connect a new (used) module and still cant get any connection. This used module didnt have the same part number but is from a similar car. The abs module is not connecting to the obd scan tool either. Messurred power and ground at the connector for the abs module. Do anyone have an idea of whats wrong? Do anyone have a wiring diagram for the abs on this car?

You must always replace like for like - the same exact part, because there are different versions of these modules - some ABS, some ESP and ABS, and these are specifically configured for the exact options fitted to each vehicle, so you can't just replace it because it looks the same or was from similar vehicle - as it will likely be configured differently.

Further, just because your diagnostic software could not talk to the module (common issue with after-market code readers), it does not necessarily mean your ABS / ESP ECU is faulty. It may be something as simple as a wheel speed sensor that is faulty - if that is the case it will affect the ESP system, throw up warnings, deactivate ESP functions, electronic parking brake, hill start functions, cruise control etc.

So getting it properly diagnosed is essential as a first measure or you could end up replacing parts for no gain.

I dont thinkt that the diagnostic tool is the issu. I have a foxwell i70 pro. Unless these car are very hard to connect with. If the diagnostics were the problem it wouldt give me faultcodes for can comunication problems?
The part numbers could be a problem with the new part. Is there any way to test the part or to messure out whats wrong?

I just mentioned it as I've seen it before.

Looking at the new info - just about all these faults (excluding the obvious Radio and MFD / Heating issues) can be related to the ESP ECU. They are all interdependent on this ECU working for the other features and systems to operate. As I mentioned one possibility is that you have an incorrect unit or incorrectly configured unit on the vehicle.

The next question has to be were you getting the same or different codes on the old ESP ECU before you changed it over?

The radio and haeting codes are my fault. Relay for the fan was unplugged and the radii has been changed for aftermarket one.

Havent fully swaped the parts. Just unplugged the connector from the old one and plugged into the new one. To see if i could get some comunication Stille get the same codes and no conntact with the abs module in the diagnostics tool.

Wich number on the module is the part number? I found one but everyone is refering to another number than what i found

Are there any other comon problems with these car that makes these fault codes and problems?

No, these are all related to lack of data from the ESP module:>

Wheel Speed Sensors, Steering Wheel Angle Sensor, Electronic Handbrake>ESP>Power Steering ECU>Engine ECU>BSI>Telematics for example, but this is not the complete list.

Assuming ESP ECU is correct part and correctly configured, then look to electric connectors, wiring harness, earths, Engine Fuse Box, Supplies & Protection Management Unit etc.

The problem is solved. Messured the wires from the connector at the abs module. Messured that the cabel named CMO1C dident have 12v at the abs module. Applied power to the "cabel" side of the fuse connector and then i got connection with the abs module. Played aorund with the fuse (f6) and then got it to work. Might be the "relay" in the bsm module that has gotte stuck or somthing?
