I'm going to try a hairdryer just to be sure it should show if there is significant back pressure at higher airflows I think

Still very damp here so I don't think I will be back under the car today. I think herself wants me to do gardening

Personally I wouldn’t use a slide hammer injector remover,
Slightly out of line and it will snap,,
I have a traffic which are known for stuck injectors, bought a kit on eBay and got them out

The only thing that would pull them was the hydraulic puller. I made up a mechanical puller first and it done nothing and neither did the slide hammer.

Ok so turbo and pre-cat are in I put a bit of a how to in a different post related to the turbo. Just need to connect up other bits and prime the turbo. I'm contemplating doing a compression test but cant decide if it is worth the hassle. At this point?

Never done a compression test on a diesel - does it connect via injector or glue plug hole?
If it's glow plugs, having snapped one in the past, I'd leave it for another day!

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
It's glow plug on these, I think you might be right. Leave it alone put it back together and see how I get on. If there's a problem then maybe do one I suppose. I have a scope with the amp clamp that you can do a relative compression test with, but I haven't figured out how to do it. I'll have to watch a few more videos on it. It's non invasive. But I smoke tested the engine before and didn't find any leaks from the cylinders so probably just over thinking again.
I'll have to practice the relative test I think just for peace of mind. It measures amps as a function of cylinder pressure essentially.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
So turbo is fully installed I gave the intercooler and pipes a good cleaning just to be safe and I reinstalled the cat and Dpf and smoke tested the exhaust for leaks and everything seems fine no visible leaks. Just the drive shaft and engine mount left to do. Then refill gearbox and engine with fresh oil. I did however have a slight issue with the temperature sensor in the Dpf . It's a little bit bent , I'm not sure what happened it. I haven't tested it yet I'll wait until everything is back together and check for live data.as long as it returns data I should be good. If not I will just have to buy a replacement. I put a new high pressure a/c pipe in as well, mine had a pin hole in it and being aluminium it's hard to find someone willing to weld it , my mate tried but it kept bubbling up and leaving more holes so couldn't get it to work. I have to test the new one is airtight as well. The jobs on this car just seem endless at this point.

All I can do Darren is keep giving you encouragement to keep at it. Your car is going to be as good as new.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
I don't like them either, but I've put it on my "not worth worrying about" list. The DV6 has a plastic one - my wife's 206 HDi came with the end missing (wasn't down the dipstick tube so who knows where that bit actually went!?) but it's (cheap) replacement lasted ok.
